NBA free agency/LeBronapalooza 2018

Kaiser probably thinks Frank/Hardaway Jr./9th pick gets the Knicks the best deal.
I think Fultz/10 is the best deal unless Ainge really wants him.

I'm just so fascinated to see who emerges as suitors for Kawhi/how demanding Kawhi is about exactly where he's traded to.

Not enough. The Spurs won't take Fultz IMO.

If I were the Spurs and they deal him to Lakers I want 3 unprotected first round picks like the Celtics got for Pierce/KG and make them 2019, 2021,2023 and the right to swap picks in 2022 and 2024 so when LBJ gets old and leaves they could get top picks like the Celtics got with the Nets.
To make the Lakers do this take the awful contract of Deng and I bet Pop can use him.

If Boston is willing to give up Kyrie that is the deal I take if I am the Spurs.

It will tell us a lot if he does go to meet in LA

They could if they want Rozier long term.
Rozier isn’t as good as Kyrie but he is definitely average to above average as a starting PG in the league.

Lonzo/Ingram/Deng/first round pick and the Spurs stretch provision Deng.
Not sure the lakers would be well advised to ditch the long term plan for the short term. But its their best shot for a ‘ship in the next two seasons

Unless you are getting Jimmy Butler or a Boston trade that includes either Brown or Tatum, I'm calling the teams in the top five of the draft.

Man, I really hope Kawhi doesn't regret this. He's one of my favorite NBA players.

Wow Pop has no leverage.
He wants the Lakers.
He can’t use Boston and Philly off each other.
Ainge at the deadline apparently offered Jaylen Brown, Morris and Sacramento pick.

LeBron + Kawhi and either Paul George or Chris Paul. Whatever LeBron decides

Seems like he might be able to at least use the Clippers for some tiny amount of leverage, but the best the Clippers can probably offer is like Tobias Harris, and the 12th and 13th picks. The Lakers can obviously beat that, but at least San Antonio might be able to force them to beat that for now.

Yeah, this is where I am now.

I still would want to get Jaylen Brown since I think he's Kawhi 2.0, potentially. But that might just be straight off the table.

If Kawhi is telling Boston he won't sign long-term, I have a hard time envisioning them giving Jaylen up at this point. Really depends. Woj reported that LA is #1 on Kawhi's list of destinations with the Lakers being preferred over the Clippers, but I suppose that doesn't necessarily mean he'll refuse to sign with a couple other teams.

The only trade that would make sense for Boston is giving up Kyrie since he is only signed for one year himself.

If LeBron would stay in Cleveland the Cavs could give the Spurs Love and 8.
However that still wouldn’t beat the Warriors.

Here is my dream: Trade to the Clips, get bost first round picks, then Luka falls and SAS flips the two firsts to Memphis for the #4 and they get Luka.

This cements it’s the Lakers.
They are the only team with cap space that could do this.
He would get his 30 million a year even though it wouldn’t beat the super max.
He is going to the Lakers.
Pop just needs to squeeze all he can from them.

Ingram, Kuz and TBD third player, right?

This is a completely unfair statement, but it might be time for Pop to hang it up. This destroys the entire organizational mystique around the Spurs.

It would be kind of awesome in a stupid way if the Spurs just refuse to deal Leonard and make him sit.

Also, Leonard comes out of this looking really bizarre.
