NBA free agency/LeBronapalooza 2018

Lonzo/Ingram/Deng/first round pick and the Spurs stretch provision Deng.

Fwiw, the spurs couldn't stretch Deng. Can only be stretched by the team who signed the contract (i think)

I wonder if the Spurs end up eating the Deng deal to get Ingram/Ball.

This is a completely unfair statement, but it might be time for Pop to hang it up. This destroys the entire organizational mystique around the Spurs.

It would be kind of awesome in a stupid way if the Spurs just refuse to deal Leonard and make him sit.

Also, Leonard comes out of this looking really bizarre.
Pop is NBA Belichick he isn’t letting anybody drive him out.

He will probably get every ounce he can out of the Lakers or say screw it and hold on to him. Lakers won’t have cap space next year so they have an incentive to do a deal.

The only trade that would make sense for Boston is giving up Kyrie since he is only signed for one year himself.

I feel like Boston should definitely be offering Kyrie. Worst case scenario, you're forcing your rival Lakers to beat that offer instead of getting Kawhi super cheap. Best case scenario, LA balks at beating a Kyrie offer and you end up with Kawhi for at least one year.

I think the Spurs like Murray, so not sure they have interest in Ball.

The Celtics could have stretched Gerald Wallace when they got him in the KG/Pierce deal but Ainge didn’t want that as he knew he was going to suck for a year and didn’t want to have his cap hit for years he could do something.

Would San Antonio be interested in Hayward?

Ingram, Kuz and TBD third player, right?
If I am Pop I say I want 3 first round picks unprotected.

Then I want Ingram and Ball.

You don’t want to do this I am not selling him. There has to be a western conference tax.

Chris Mannix saying to keep an eye on the Sacramento Kings to push to acquire Kawhi with the #2 pick.

Edit: Ian Begley saying that Kawhi has expressed interest in playing in New York.

So lemme get this straight - Kawhi is actively becoming a pain so he can leave what's recognized as one of the most strongly aligned and successful owners, front offices and coaching staffs in all of sports to go to... Dolan?

Oh, Kings.
Kings pick is owned by Boston next year. They want the star to make a run because they know they will suck next year and don’t have their pick.
It would be stupid though as Leonard wouldn’t stay there.
They would be losing 2nd pick and going all-in to try and just make the playoffs.

My guess

Knicks get kyrie

SA gets kanter/frank and 2 first round picks (one knicks, one kings via boston)

Boston gets Kawhi and x role player

Isn't Kanter technically in limbo right now? I'm pretty sure he has a player option right now and is reportedly leaning towards becoming a free agent; I don't think the Knicks can technically trade him.

Just figured pop’s lost leverage now and willl have to take a burden player in order to gather more picks. Kanter being that player. Wont be Noah.

You may be right about kanter, i’ll have to look into the specifics.

Lakers package is more appealing than that for the Spurs.

I don’t think Kyrie is getting moved.National media is blowing his comments out of proportion this week.
Kyrie is Smart he knows if he says he wants to stay he loses leverage with Danny.
Ainge trades Isiah Thomas after he said he wanted to stay long term.
Kyrie isn’t a moron he knows his current spot is ideal. He just can’t sign now unless he wants 80 million less which nobody gives up. Same reason Klay isn’t resigning this offseason.
Kyrie is staying.

Only way Kyrie leaves this offseason is if LeBron wanted Boston.

I dont want to admit it because I’ve always felt like he’d be dealt, but I really really like Kyrie as a celtic. It works.

Kanter has a player option for around $18 million. He's def been teasing on twitter he's gonna opt out. I would love that to be the case. But I think it would be unwise for him

Never forget - he is dumb.
