NBA Thread 2020-21 Season

Some Boston fans are getting what they deserve for shting on Hayward. Never found a viable replacement and Walker is close to washed.

The Lakers just can’t score. I guess Foster could officiate game 6 and send them to the line 40 times. That’s probably their best hope.
Schroeder: 0-9. Pathetic.

We struggled to score last year too, but had a healthy Bron and Davis carrying the load.

Schroeder and Harrell were supposed to give us more punch, but we barely even play Harrell anymore and Schroder is so up and down.

Dame either needs to leave Portland or get an upgrade to McCollum...at the least, but I’m not sure who’s itching to go play in Portland.

Fitting that Melo is on that team, as Lillard also looks to be an all-time great that will likely never win a ring.

I’m rooting for them to come back and take this series, but if a Jamal Murray-less Nuggets knocks you out, I’m not sure what the future outlook in the West can possibly be for them.

Dame’s more than welcomed to leave and join up with Boston!

Eh.

I’d rather see a guy stay with his team and do his best, than go team up with the other best players.

This is why the “ringsssss” thing is so stupid. We all know Dame is one of the best, and anyone who tries to pull that “ringssss” BS against him is stupid and doesn’t understand sports. Same with prime Melo.

Portland has been on the treadmill Dame's entire career. I respect his loyalty to Portland and hope he stays, but they've done a shitty job of building around him. It was obvious from their first year together that Dame and CJ could never win a title together; they just accentuate each other's weaknesses too much. And the forwards that they've tried to bring in to complement them have generally been terrible decisions. CJ's trade value probably is nowhere near what it once was but I imagine they could still package some of their pieces together for an upgrade if they finally decide to.

Schroder has been terrible and he turned down like what 80 million?

Lebron is doing the same thing he always has from a passing standpoint, but the shooting is just letting them down.

The only place Jaylen Brown could go where I wouldn’t have a sissy fit is Portland

Agree. I‘d rather watch him there than have anything to do with watching the Nets. The Nets are just not at all exciting to watch even with the roster they have.

Is Lakers Suns a last man standing contest? I saw James didn't play the 4th and left early and Paul got knocked out of the game.

Not the way you want it to go down.

Obviously this doesn’t apply to Paul but I have to think it isn’t a coincidence that the last four teams standing in the bubble last year all had major injuries derail their season. Miami and Boston already knocked out in the first round rather quickly, Lakers on the ropes down AD/a hobbled Bron/KCP banged up, then Denver in a dog fight with Portland without Murray.

His contract is insane. He will be 34 when it expires and he will make 48 million his last season. Can he maintain his "greatness" or does he then become a missing piece and chases a ring. I know people in Utah would love to see him return to his college home but what will the Jazz be like in 2025. That's such a long time away.

Damian Lillard

Good observation.

I do agree, but the way the NBA is set up in its current culture of super teams, guys like Dame will likely never win.

More of an indictment on the league than Dame. Damian Lillard is everything right with the league, but suffers for it.

Brad Stevens heading to the front office, Boston hiring a new coach. Ainge is out.
