NBA Thread 2020-21 Season

Houston- Dallas has fans in the stands, and they’re still using fake crowd noise, meaning you can’t hear the whistles, the ball hitting the rim, etc.

This must just be a standard NBATV thing? It’s horrible. So bootleg sounding.

Fantasy wise anyway, Julius Randle is having a hell of a start to the season 21/10/7, 50% shooting from 3's on 4 attempts. Not sure if any of it actually really translates to wins on the floor but good for my fantasy team. His assists have never been close to this level (7 this year vs an average of about 3 for this career).

Having another big game tonight with 12/5/3 in the first quarter.

He has legit been fantastic this year. Good on defense too. I'm not saying I buy it, but he's been great

Perhaps it's a different league. But I think you are taking on me. I know that Day2 and myself are easily confused given our interests in the Clippers.
Ah, so you're the one about to feel the wrath of Deandre.

How are Raptors fans reacting to another loss to start 1-5? The offence looks bad. Baynes looks horrid. And I just watched a Paskal Siakam game from the first 10 of last season vs now and its like he was replaced by someone else (athleticism gone, touch gone, swagger gone, confidence gone).

Here are the current threads from the first page of the Raptors site I go

So, uh, for real though, what's up with Siakam?

No clue.
He seemed to try to change his game last year to become a #1 option -- basically now he does nothing he did good before then (no atleticism or touch near the basket which was elite in 2019), and can't shoot anymore either.

He is a very good defender however. But at $30mill per year that is not going to cut it.

Not sure how Peyton Pritchard has been before this game, but he looks very solid for a late first round rookie.
Yeah, I've caught a few minutes of him here and there and he looks like he belongs.

He has been a solid bench PG.
He isn’t going to be great but Celtics media have compared him to TJ McConnell.

Boston fans hated that pick. But they also hated Gordon Hayward who I would still love to have on the roster. And they hated Horford because his box scores weren’t impressive enough. Talking Celtics basketball when I was going to school in Mass was frustrating.

Syracuse and Boston fanbases have more in common than most would think. Lol

Except the media.
Syracuse media don’t try to make fans hate their teams.
Boston media believe that fans shouldn’t be fans and should be critical of everything.

I didn’t hate the pick. It was a late round pick. We needed depth and Pritchard looks like a bench player which is all we can expect.

Toronto Raptors last year when they had a 10+ point lead at any point in a game: 48-4.

Looks like he has more scoring potential than TJ.

No, they just try to put our teams on probation. ;)

So. The Knicks...

I wonder if this is another draft, like in 2018 where we pretend the later pick (Robinson, Quickley) is the real lotto pick and the lotto pick (Knox, Obi) is just a guy
Obi will be fine, but damn if Quickley doesnt seem to be the real deal here.

its the same on most broadcasts. I don't know what happened. ESPN / TNT had this figured out in the bubble, yet now the quality of broadcasts has regressed. There is obviously a way to meld ambient crown noise, the refs whistles / and some piped in noise. I know there is because they ALREADY did it last year.

Pelicans with an epic meltdown in the last 2 minutes last night up 10 on Pacers and lose in OT. Really some horrible play in the last couple minutes. Included a missed dunk by Zion, Ingram isolating every possession and not making one bucket, awful defense, awful press break and turnovers by JJ and Zo. It was really that bad. JJ is shooting like 5% from 3 point line since game 1 as well. Some horrendous bench coaching by Van Gundy as well. That said, I can't emphasize enough how much I have enjoyed watching Steven Adams play game in game out. True Pro and he and Ingram been working the pick and roll very well. What is so frustrating the last 2 minutes they went away from their offense and just started spreading the floor for Ingram and playing hero ball, he had the ball in his hands 90% of the time and it was rough. I love Ingram but it was just too much

WOW.
