New DC ideas

Ed Reed was on Le Batard the other day and said he wants to coach and believes he can jump into a DC position. He and Swag Daddy can team up and take all the recruits in South Florida together. (Yes I know we're not hiring someone without any DC experience at all but can you imagine Ed Reed stalking our sidelines?)

We definatly need Venerables type mentality. Hoping coach standard can be that guy but if not we need to find one and keep him as de coach.

Weston Glaser is a young up and coming DC for Campbell College in NC. Their D plays smart aggressive and with a ton of energy. He is known as a great motivator and recruiter. Guy played QB in college. He would be a solid addition to the staff. In my opinion we need some energy out of our coaches. Need some youth. I think that we really miss Lewis. You could tell he was a charismatic leader who connected with the players. We need more of that.

I would be fine with this because his name and we literally can’t get worse with whatever D he rolls out.

Sign me up. I really like the defensive philosophy. To force QBs and linemen to communicate every down in our dome seems to be an advantage for us.

I really like an aggressive attacking defense. Been preaching it for years. It works in college. Speeds up the O decision making and the O is not always that quick or talented to handle it. Really forces the hand. It dictates to the O and not the other way around.

He was probably our best DC in the last 20 years. It's never going to happen, but i'd be okay w/ it if it did. If anything, i remember Babers had a connection to Bullough.

I remember Babers hired Ward b/c he felt his Defense gave him trouble. Based on that criteria, going with a high pressure D that mixes up the blitzes well (a Shafer type-Defense, though many others do the same) seems like a gimme.

I think the next 3 games is an audition for Stanard. Outside of him Dino likes to hire people who he has connections with so I think Brian Norwood at Navy maybe a favorite.
