*Orange helmet with either blue numbers or a blue block "S" (possibly outlined by white), or silver numbers, or a silver block "S"

*Blue jersey with Orange trim and/or orange shoulder stripes, or silver trim and/or shoulder stripes (obviously a white jersey for away games)

*Orange pants with blue racing stripes, silver racing stripes, or blue racing stripes with a silver interior

*Blue or white socks

*White, orange, or black shoes

How hard is that????

The way I look at it is if the kids who are wearing them like them then it's fine. You can get 10 different people in a room, and all 10 can have different style preference. Your never going to make everyone happy when trying out new uniforms so just listen to the ones that will be wearing them.

I love the fact that the players were involved in the decision making process and if the like them that's is all that matters.

The "get off my lawn" crowd is here in full effect. Get over the traditional approach, Syracuse football tradition is not currently carrying our program, and our recruits know little to nothing about Syracuse tradition. They do know, and like, fresh uniforms though. Traditional uniforms don't get us wins, players that want different uniforms do.

MOST good programs...like that program with the most tradition of all...Notre Dame. Maybe your TV has been off for the last year or so and you missed the various iterations of their unis.

And by the way Syracuse is trying to claw back to decent let alone good. Whatever tactics they need to shorten the trip is fine by me but I'm sure a bad team, wearing throwback unis, playing in an empty dome will make you giddy.

I understand the part about having a sugar daddy like Phil Knight. However, almost every program out there has rolled out alternate unis, including ND, Ohio State, Florida, Florida St, Michigan, Stanford, UGA, VA Tech just to name a few. Only two that haven't off the top of my head are PSU and Bama.

Ohio State, USC, Michigan, Florida State, Clemson, Michigan State, Nebraska, West Virginia and Notre Dame all have alternate uniforms. I guess these programs all suck.

Let me get this straight...

Nobody cares what the football team wears, just as long as the kids like it. Blue pants, platinum helmets, pink jock straps, ... it's all good.

But as soon as the basketball team wears one piece of duct tape ... all hell breaks loose.

Yeah I don't care what the basketball team uniforms look because we wear White at home and Orange on the road. The platinum one time uniforms were okay as Nike was showcasing our program by letting us wear them. I prefer 2001-2003 era Basketball uniforms if I had a choice, but current ones are fine. I didn't like 2005-2007 ones because I prefer white or the duct tape we have now over the blue but they are fine.

I like the idea of having alternative uniforms for football because everyone is doing this fad. I just wish we would incorporate for bleeping Orange because that is our name.

Again, put me down in the camp if the kids like it, I do as well. I do prefer they keep with the school colors though which is Orange and blue, correct? But as I wrote, it's about the kids and what they want.

The school only has one color... Orange.

The traditional accompanying color has been blue. The football team has, so far, stuck with that theme. The basketball & lacrosse teams have gone with variations of platinum and white. The University has also gone with VPI's maroon (see the Connective Corridor).

IMHO, all blue (jersey, pants, helmet) with only an Orange "S" and trim would be odd. The current blue pants really need a thin Orange trim line (like the jersey's shoulders). I could by into a blue-to-orange helmet if it went with the blue jersey and orange pants.
