New PS interview with Danielle Roach

Does this give Schwarz the okay to drag SPD and the DA through the mud now?

If she called SVU at the Onondaga DA's office, it would have been followed up, by Rick or anyone. They are zealots and true believers, which is needed in that department.
Agree

Just to be clear, the University hired BSK for their own interests, and not FOR Bernie, right? Dumb question, but I figured I'm entitled to one now and then, and my wife isn't here for me to ask her to guess how many facial hairs I currently have.

Yes.

i think i see a stupid chick from cny, who reacquaints herself with a former boyfriend, who is now obviously a crack addict drunk...and believes his story that bernie fine molested him for the reason being why he likes crack and lets him back into her pants. then she tells him if he doesnt call the po-po...she will.

but of course, when i drive in utah, i often pull over to the side of the road, call police back in New York and decide to make incriminating accusations against someone who demanded the 5k he loaned me back.

It would be crazy if this was all about the . It kinda makes sense. Davis told her and she was the one who went to the SPD in 2001. She was the one who went again now. It is almost like Davis doesn't really care (see 5 min call to SPD). Yet she won't let it go. He got all caught up in this because he wanted to get back with her. He knows that there is no way a trial will happen and he gets revenge on Fine.

So Roach obtained the ADA's contact info from a rape crisis center she volunteered at, but did not go back to them for assistance when then ADA was not returning calls pertaining to someone that was raped repeatedly as a child? Yet ten years later she is now the champion of victims rights?

So something isn't adding up for me, correct me if I am wrong please: in the OTL interview she said she did not know if he was getting molested but had a feeling based on weird looks, drawn curtains, and a general suspicion of secrets. But, now she is the first one to call the police in this whole story? In one case you do not know but in the second you do?

I would imagine that she was also the one to encourage him to step up to the PS, ESPN, and SU too.

This ^^^^. Anyone who knows Rick knows how passionate he is about any case & how good he is at returning calls on even the most trivial matters.

And it should also be pointed out that the Post's O'Brien & the DA's Office are, shall we say, not exactly members of a mutual admiration society.

Is it possible that with all these statements by the exgf of no response from officials that the target could be a lawsuit against the City and County, specifically the SPD and DA for not following through on the allegations supposedly "reported" to them in 2002? If so, thankfully the University did their "due diligence" with the four month investigation through their lawyers.

I believe "no" if for no other reason then it's too late. Also, what exactly are the damage to Davis? Don't see it.

Looks like they added a small section to the article this morning, including an interesting quote from the DA.

After learning of Roach’s claim, Fitzpatrick spoke to someone “very, very close” to Roach who asked her about the phone messages she’d left in 2002. Roach told that person, whom Fitzpatrick would not identify, that she tried twice to reach Trunfio. The first time, Roach didn’t leave her name or phone number or say why she was calling, Fitzpatrick said. The second message she left did not include Fine’s name or anything about sexual abuse, Fitzpatrick said.

Fitzpatrick questioned the motives of Syracuse police including in Roach’s statement information about Trunfio not returning her calls. The issue is irrelevant, Fitzpatrick said.

I spent my day trying to find out whether or not the allegations are true,” he said. The police department is “apparently spending their time trying to cover their asses.”

The DA is a joke. Fitzpatrick needs to calm down, people dont care that much about you. Dude's ego needs a serious check.

In some respects he is right to be doing what he is doing, but he need not do it so publicly or necessarily now. I firmly believe that if the SPD responded to the allegations by simply saying the SOL has expired there is nothing we are going to do that they fell down on the job and they should get taken to task over it. But, if nothing comes to light to show that Bernie molested kids and more importantly molested additional or other kids since the time that they attempted to report him to the SPD it is a no harm no foul kind of situation that should be dealt with behind the scenes rather than in a fashion that appears solely intended to win political points rather than actually improve the processes within the SPD.

All these statements contradict each other ... how has no one called her, davis, lang, or schwarz out yet?

If im reading things correctly Davis and Roach called and "maybe" never mentioned Bernie's name or even brought up molestation accusations. Very bizarre. "I think you know who im talking about", good thing im not a cop because I would hang up on that phone call too.

i am biased because i think davis is lying. the problem i have with the story is he is able to quote, verbatim (or at least that's how the media is publishing it), the convo he had with police 9 years ago. i understand this is an important moment in the guy's life, so it is likely he has better memory of this convo over others, but i don't know any convo i had 9 years ago that i can remember verbatim, no matter what the magnitude.

also, seems like it is easy for roach and davis to point fingers at the DA and police department because it has been so long that they know there are little to know regards of the two calling. i could claim i called the DA 9 years ago as well, and i doubt the DA would be able to show me any hard evidence to disprove it.

but i don't know any convo i had 9 years ago that i can remember verbatim, no matter what the magnitude.

I can't remember how I kept my own window shades 20 years ago. I can't remember exactly what I said to my girlfriend two days ago. I can't remember who I talked to on the phone last week.

Just one of 100 reasons why I am with you on this. I'm convinced he is 100% lying.

I actually think Roach could be telling the truth, but only because she was also lied to by Davis. That might even be how this started; since she worked for a rape crisis center she took his lies very seriously and dragged him into it. Now there's no turning back. The fact that Lang just appears, says "Bernie touched me too", then disappears is suspicious as well... since it wasn't until after the initial investigation that Davis learned he needed a 2nd victim to really get the ball rolling.

I think the #1 advantage that Bernie, SU, the SPD and the DA have here is that because the SOL has run out Davis isn't hiring a lawyer... and now he is making all the mistakes a lawyer would keep him from making.

Where is Lang? Your right, I hadnt even thought about him since the story broke. He did two weird interviews then vanished.

great, great point!!!

Assuming that those of us who think this is all lies are right, the more the SPD and DA are attacked by Davis and Co. the better.

This is just stupid, so she told her friend she called the DA's office and then left a message just saying she was calling. She just left a message saying "Hello. I'm calling." Right. Why would you even tell your friend you did that little.

The second time she just asked for a call back, but without any other information - they would probably assume that's a wrong number.

Is there anyone involved in this case outside of Bernie Fine & the University that isn't completely ed.

You know how we heard the rumor that people at SPD were saying "This doesn't look good for Bernie." ? I think this is what was being referred to. The DA and the cops aren't interested in this "crime" at all. That should be obvious. Listen to these fools. They are interested now, only in not looking bad. Its because of Penn State and its because of the publicity ESPN put on these imbeciles who are alleging this stuff, and finally because of the nature of the accusations (child sex abuse is practically the last bad thing in this world that hasn't somehow become "cool" in popular culture).

The real assclowns here are the DA and the cops. Nothing new there, but you throw publicity and possible bad press into the situation and it becomes explosive. This doesn't look good for Bernie because he is now just a football being kicked around by these political forces (tinged with total incompetence).

He'd have a better chance of getting a fair shake in this thing if it was being investigated by Boss Hogg from Hazzard County.
