I think the game is losing its luster.

Terrible, inconsistent officiating and too many breaks in the action.

Speaking from a small market team with QB issues for a decade, I'll always watch the Bills but am sick of a sport dominated by Quarterback play and the Patriots. I'd suspect I'm not totally alone in that.

Being the NFL on ESPN, maybe a tiny percentage of backlash to Jemele Hill/Anthem Kneeling but way down the list, imo.

I've been saying for years that their strategy to drive owner values higher by manipulating outcomes, schedules and such would ultimately backfire.

They succeeded but now legions of fans "get the gig"...it's not hard to decipher over a decade that stuff that happens to your team doesn't happen to the "winning teams"

The NFL has actually gotten the message but it will take a while to right itself, but they've definitely given people worried about the "other stuff" a reason to tune out

The owners were strategically intelligent to capture the "sports are live tv that people will still watch live" contract bump, but they've overplayed their hand

The Chiefs play in Missouri.
I get that, still all theirs. They told me when I was there at the Sprint center when we won the CBE tourney, that it wasn't a home game. Funny people.

He should've played. The MRI came back clean and there was no chance the back up QB would give them a chance.

I guess he heard a rumor that Mean Joe Greene, LC Greenwood and Jack Lambert were coming out of retirement.

How do you know it was even his decision or the severity of his injury?

Btw always interesting to listen to people that have never stepped into the arena question the fortitude of those that do so on a regular basis.

Brutal loss for San Diego.
2 weeks in a row there kicker blew the game.

Rivers deserves better.

Bradford being injury prone factors into his QB ranking.

The players get paid no matter what fans think. At the end of the day all players care about is the check not what Alsacs thinks about him.

Nice shift there. You didn't mention his QB ranking, you questioned his courage by saying he "tapped out".

The NFC East is going to be a bloodbath this year. Between the competitiveness of the division and the fact they play the AFC West - a very tough division - I can see 10 wins being enough to win the division.

Maybe even 9

The guy had a knee injury flare up and didn't play.
I personally find that weak sauce.

I don't think the fact his coach said he is day to
Day and could be back in one week or six weeks is a coincidence.

Sports for 1000. Click, click, click. What is the sound across America of fans of America's team shutting off their TV's after that 103 yard pick 6.

Pure speculation on your part.

Last week the San Diego kicker didn't blow anything. He made his kick but Denver got the timeout in, then they blocked the second attempt.

Love that the Broncos have an offense this season. And served up a Mile High beat down on my most hated team in sports. I guess I'll finally be able to put together a few posts since we're playing the Bills next week.

Has anyone thrown a chair across the room because of the Eli debate yet?

Paul Brown and Samy Wysche would disagree.

Paul Brown: 55-56-1, 4 winning seasons in 8 years, 2 division titles, 3 playoff appearances, never won a playoff game
Sam Wyche: 61-66, 3 winning seasons in 8 years, 2 division titles, 2 playoff appearances, 3-2 in the playoffs
Marvin: 118-105-3, 7 winning seasons in 14 years, 4 division titles, 7 playoff appearances, never won a playoff game.

I'll give you that Wyche at least got them to lose in the Super Bowl, but otherwise, Marvin's resume is clearly better than Paul Brown's (as the Bengals coach) and compares pretty well to Wyche. Obviously Brown in Cleveland was a different story, but he didn't have much success in Cinci.

I'm baffled that Bowles was returned for this year - unless they'd gotten the word that no one else would take the job. :)

I would guess that they knew they were going to be horrific this season and didn't want to hire someone new just for him to get lambasted in the media all year as they win 0-3 games. Better to let Bowles be the punching bag I guess.

Gambling line out of whack this week.
New England -13 vs. Houston.

I have a hard time believing the Patriots can cover that against that D.

To be fair, wasn't it basically the same in the playoffs last year when the Texans had like the best defense in the NFL?

I think it's a wild line too, but it seems that Vegas always does this when New England plays the Texans.

Houston didn't have JJ Watt and NE had Edelman.
Plus Amendola, Gronk and Hightower are all questionable.
NE will win at home but -13 is crazy.
