Not a well coached team

Well you all should start writing your checks to JW so he can make the $20 million payouts to Babers and the new staff. If you want to be a bigtime football school that's what happens. Otherwise saying he has to be fired is worthless at this point.

Here is the list of plays that happened in the final 45 seconds. Which one was the worst? Because there are a couple in the running.

1st & Goal from the 9 -- Run up the middle. (Total Rushing Yards for The Game = 3)
TIMEOUT N.C. State -- With Syracuse running around in a Chinese fire drill.
2nd & Goal from the 9 -- Roll right, and instead of throwing it away, tip toe the sideline to waste 2-3 more seconds than you need to to gain zero yards.
3rd & Goal from the 9 -- Run around for 15 seconds, then instead of throwing the ball away again, you take a sack.
4th & Goal from the 20 -- Spike the ball with 1 second left.

This does not even include the run out of bounds that lost 4 yards.

The media needs to hold Babers accountable. This is Year 5. Game 10 of the year. A redshirt senior at QB. And you look like you have zero clue in the final minute of a game.

It was unreal and like you mention, NC State even did us a solid with the timeout. Unbelievable.

I don’t care what anybody says, if you play power 5 football and you bring in the money this school does I don’t care what you have to do to fire Dino and this staff. That was the straw that breaks the camels back. They won’t fire him but you better do everything you need to in order to fire him after the final whistle next year, because this team isn’t making a bowl game next year.

The football program brings in over 40 million a year. They can find 20 million in the sofa in they want to.

There's a better chance of CuseRunner being voted poster of the year on the OT board then the media actually calling Babers out.

Has nothing to do with coaching there.

Usually agree with much of what you say, but I do not believe this is true.

The QB made multiple baffling decisions during the final drive -- with the spike on 4th down being the last one. If it's one, OK. If it's two, OK. If it's THREE, OK.

Four baffling plays -- run out of bounds losing yardage, nearly throwing a pick trying to throw it away, taking a sack given 15 seconds of time, and the spike -- in a span of a minute has something to do with coaching. Especially given the 5th year senior QB has been in your program for its entirety, and played in multiple games.

LONG-time lurker on this forum and appreciate all of you that still care deeply about Syracuse athletics. 2004 graduate and bleed orange all day and always will. With that said - I'm not going to make this an endless rant because we can all trust our eyes with what we're watching - all I will say is enough is enough.

This is the worst coached team in P5 and anyone who watches this team week in, week out can see it. We all understand there is buyout concerns but something needs to be done to get a new staff in charge of coaching this program this offseason.

Sadly, I will continue to watch every game because Syracuse athletics is in my blood but I will do so disgraced by watching the product that continues to be displayed on the field.

go through the ACC and tell me what coach after Dabo is good at game management? NC st almost lost to a team of HS kids on D , no oline, no QB and no RBs

And I bet they knew when it was fourth down...Ridiculous post!

I dont expect you to agree if you havent coached teams/players where you've practiced situational football over and over again and tell kids exactly what to do and they do the opposite. Im not trying to be funny but Ive experienced that many of times. Some kids have no sense of situational football. Rex has made What decisions in every game. He did great most of the game but it was due at some point. It came at the worse time. Thats all.

Another ridiculous post.

Then he shouldn't be the 5th year senior QB starting.

Play someone else. Have someone better. He was the main backup this season.

That is all on the coaches. If you don't agree with the "coaching up" part, that's fine. I have coached kids -- not football -- and understand what you're saying. To a point. Kids should get better over time.

But the moment you have a kid who can't understand, and who you repeatedly give opportunities to in practice, you hold them accountable or recruit over them. They've had 4 years to recruit over Culpepper. They got DeVito and two freshmen, plus a kid who is or isn't on the team, and a walk on who was probably better than all of them who transferred in part, I imagine, because he was given no shot.

This is 100% on the coaching staff, no matter how you spin it.

I disagree, you can coach your kids to not make terrible decisions. Some of which are systematic - throwing the ball away.
Any coach that any of us played for would have said during the
GIFT TIMEOUT
" REX WHATEVER YOU DO DONT TAKE A SACK. DO NOT TAKE A SACK!"
From pee wee through the pros any coach says that. It like in BBALL
REMEMBER DONT FOUL...
