OJLL 2024

There already enough NCAA drama for me to get too invested in OJLL drama. Glad to see Joey is crushing it once again though. Will only make him better down south in the states

The Orangeville Northmen beat the Mimico Mountaineers 13-9 to take a 2-0 lead in the best of 7 OJLL Finals. It was a close game until the last half of the 3rd period when Orangeville took a multi-goal lead capped off by an empty net goal the length of the floor by the Orangeville goalie.

For Orangeville:
Joey 3g, 5a
Trey 4g
Also, Jake Spallina played in his 2nd playoff game and took faceoffs and played some defense. Played well.
Donny Scott hasn't played since the 1st game of the 2nd series.

For Mimico:
Finn 1g, 2a
Jordan Vincent played a good game on D.

Game 3 is Sunday night at 8pm at Orangeville. Game is Live on YouTube on the OJLL Channel.

Owen Hiltz had a big 4G/1A game last night as Peterborough beat Brooklin to take a 3-0 lead in their MSL semi series. He’s really picked his scoring up & is playing a much bigger role in the playoffs.

On the other side of the bracket, the Six Nations Chiefs (basically the Haudenosaunee national box team + Dhane Smith, a Canadian who’s one of the best players in both the NLL & PLL but took this summer off to focus on box) also have a 3-0 lead in their semi series vs Coburg & look to close things out tonight. SN is a perfect 14-0 this summer & are looking to win their 2nd straight Mann Cup.

Jake Spallina and Donny Scott did not play

Mimico beat Orangeville 11-7 tonight to even the best of 7 OJLL Final Series at 2-2. Winner goes to the Minto Cup. Mimico led the whole game -- 5-1 after the first period and 10-4 after the second. Game 5 is Thursday night 8pm in Orangeville. Game 6 is Saturday night at 7pm in Mimico. Game 7 (if necessary) is Sunday night 7pm in Orangeville. All games are on the OJLL channel on YouTube. The Minto Cup starts August 17th in Coquitlam, B.C. It involves 4 teams including the OJLL Champion. At least 2 SU players will be there. Will it be Joey & Trey (with Jake and Donny) or Finn & Jordan?

Jake Spallina played; took a fair amount of the faceoffs and played D
Donny Scott was listed on the active roster for the game but I didn't see him play
