ORANGE UNITED NIL

Random rant time: The thing that bothers me about OrangeUnited is the way the monthly subscriptions are setup. As far as I can tell, you can only have one reoccurring monthly subscription on your account and it’s either for one sport or all of them. There’s no option for, say, football and MBB. This causes me to need to have a monthly subscription for football and, when I remember, make one-time donations to MBB. It would be nice if their subscription model could be re-worked a bit.

Don’t disagree a bit. Pragmatically speaking, an extremely high percentage of the donations go to the two marquis sports - football and men’s basketball. If you take out a general subscription the board determines where the undirected funds are allocated and most will end up supporting those two sports. However, if you wanted to rely completely on the subscription model for your gifts and wanted to support women’s lacrosse and soccer only the functionality isn’t there unless you create two accounts under two different email addresses.

I will be meeting with Mark Hayes next week. If you have enjoyed the SyraCRUZ / Fine Mess Tailgates in the past, please consider making an additional or initial donation. Orange United is now a partner in our tailgate NIL initiative and will be orchestrating our tailgate guests, gameday videos and more. The more we support, the greater the opportunities for syracusefan donors and our partner student athletes.

Okay, Okay, I got it done today.

We really kicked off our partnership in great fashion. Once again the guest athletes were top level kids. Very personable and told me they had a great time.
Mark Hayes address once we got the microphones charged was electric. I have really enjoyed working with him. And supplying the 8x10s that Gavin and Nick autographed was a great perk. I had to work with the athletes, ensure we were using approved photos, then get them printed at our expense last couple of years.
For Georgia Tech we will have two major representatives from men’s lacrosse. I will announce the names in the RSVP thread once confirmed. We have two women’s basketball players lined up for Stanford - one with a pretty recognizable last name - and two men’s basketball starters for Holy Cross.
Going to be a great season in the Henry nee Fine Lot!

FSU 12 million. And they can’t even win a game yet.

Running backs are valued as much in college as they are in the NFL nowadays.

I spoke with Mark Hayes yesterday and he noted that only about a third of the donors on our donor list have registered on the Orange United site. However, there was a significant number of contributions that were submitted as “guest” that corresponded with the announcement of our partnership and he received several messages from “guests” indicating that they are part of the SyraCRUZ Tailgate NIL initiative.
It is important to our ongoing activity that you register at Orange United with the same email address as you have used in the past with SyraCRUZ. If you are unsure, please PM me and I will verify.
Mark is very pleased with our involvement and support, but we want to accurately reflect the cumulative value of our group to continue to grow our project.

Talked to Hayes at a small (for us) tailgate prior to the men’s soccer game. We were joined by a soccer alumni group and between a 50-50 and a donation box we raised $830 for men’s soccer NIL.

Being candid, Mark needs to get more aggressive.

He reached out for a 30-minute Zoom. He never asked for more money and never followed up. Not impressed with his fundraising capabilities.
