OT: Rex Ryan signing with Buffalo per ESPN

And this notion Rex is walking into some great defense. The Bills lost to the Raiders with the season on the line and let a rookie QB go up and down the field on them in Oakland. The Bills defense is good. Not great. And anyone who thinks Rex makes that defense great is in for a really rude awakening.
LOL - still posting about the Bills? Thought you would stop after Pegula's purchase made you look like an idiot.

I didn't realize Mangini was the 2nd coming. I should re look at this body of work as a HC in the NFL that obviously speaks for itself. Learn something new everyday.

Yep he was 33-47 as a HC, genius for sure, what some will do to push an agenda

My interest in St. Doug is as an alum and former coach of my team. I could care less about an irrelevant franchise like the Buffalo. Rex has been mediocre a lot longer than St. Doug- so let's bring that guy in to coach- typical Bills move. The Bills have been in the cellar for nearly a decade and a half so you can't say they don't deserve to be ridiculed. I prefer to think of it as speaking the truth-they're one of the 3 worst franchises in the league-nothing personal it's the reality of that franchise. As for St. Doug, I give him an incomplete for his work in Buffalo, but if I were a Bills fan I'd still appreciate the job done. Buffalo is a tough place to win given the ownership and complete incompetence of the front office. As for him not getting along with everyone I haven't defended it I've merely stated that it is irrelevant and I don't really much care. For a backwards franchise with a losing culture like Buffalo it's probably a badge of honor. We'll see if the Pigulas bring anything different but that remains to be seen, but it seems like trading in 1 middling coach for another is hardly a step in the right direction.

Exactly. He took manginis team to 2, AFC Champ games.

Lets see what he does with marrones team...

Mangini>Marrone

He's overrated as a DC too. He just didn't what he was given in Baltimore, remember he was just a position coach for the ring...and without revis the jets weren't much. Good DL though...

Why does anyone need to 'win the presser' in buffalo???... Who da fluck cares? Obviously Atlanta, Chicago and SF didn't want him.

No Super Bowl forthcoming for c & wny...

Mangini > Marrone.

Ummm... Is today 4/20?

Mangini is another one sucking off the Belichick teet. again. McDaniels is another. I love the Pats DC, local guy to boot but he isn't pretty enough to be a HC

I'm pretty sure I remember some posts about how no one would want to go to buffalo. Now they got the biggest name

I believe the exact quote was that no offensive coach would want to go to the Bills, but I might be mistaken. Also could have been that multiple posters posted both things.

Anyone know what the plan for Spiller is?

Also, how's the FA market look for o-linemen?

Mangini was not HC material. Marrone hasn't proved he is a dud yet. Maybe Marrone should just go into management. It fits his personality/mindset better.

1. If Marrone had stayed, CJ was for sure gone. Not sure if that changes now, but my personal guess is that it won't change unless he'll resign on the cheap.

2. Mike Iupati is a good guard. I think Willie Colon is available too. Not sure who else.

Um, it proved me right!! Not sure what you are talking about

Orlando Franklin, I think is a FA as well. I could def see Buffalo getting Iupati and/or Colon. I'm assuming they might want one of Richardson/Koundijo to work out but I think it's a given they will sign at least one upper tier OG this year, especially given Ryan/Roman's offensive philosophy, if Roman stays the OC.

I'd also like to see Buffalo get another playmaking TE to pair with Chandler via FA or the Draft.

I think Spiller will stay because, and correct me if im wrong, but given his production and view of RB's around the league, he won't get as much on the market as he will exercising his player option? Spiller/Brown/Dixon with FJax as a 3rd down back is pretty dynamic if they fix the o-line.

Spiller doesn't have a player option as far as I know. Pretty sure he's an unrestricted free agent. I know Rotoworld wrote that he's heading to the open market and one team with interest is the Cardinals. Apparently Whaley has said they'd like to bring him back, but we'll see. They surrendered a 4th round pick for Bryce Brown. It's hard to imagine him not getting a bigger opportunity next year behind a hopefully improved offensive line.

Like I mentioned before, if he's returning on the cheap, sure, but if he's going to get a decent payday, I'm not sure Buffalo should be the team that gives it to him considering he's now 28 and seems to get hurt every year.

You spent months telling everyone how there was no way the Bills were staying in Buffalo, Toronto has corporate money and will spend whatever it takes to take the team, etc.

Oh ok, I must have misread something on him. I agree, Bryce Brown is every bit as explosive as Spiller. If we fix our offensive line i'm very content with a Dixon/Brown backfield with FJax as the 3rd down back.

No your right, there is some sort of player option for Spiller I think.

I think he will go to the Steelers who are desperate for a runnig back and will likely pay him what he thinks he's worth.

If we can find two replacements for our godawful guards, I'm comfortable with Jackson, Dixson and Brown.

Buffalo won the press conference with Rex. He knows how to fire up a fanbase and players, but until he has a good offense/QB he isn't going to win a Super Bowl.

Pats have cap space, and a pretty good team next year still. Rex talking pound and ground with the WRs you have must be great.

No offence but "won the presser" is quite the hot take these days. If flavor of the month OC were hired and spoke in all the usual coaching cliches he would still need a QB. Yes the Bills need a QB - we get it.
