feb 15thSo the 65+ age thing was announced around feb 26th? right? so in roughtly 2 weeks it went down to 60+ thats a pretty fast pace.. looking more like 50-55 by the end of the month
It's weird that my ex-mother-in-law hasn't yet been able to get vaccinated on Long Island. She's had at least 3 appointments canceled, is 86, and is still waiting. Is distribution that uneven? She's pretty stubborn so may not be open to other approaches to getting vaccinated than what she had planned, but she's been waiting a while. I'm not involved in her situation, but my kids are alarmed that she's still waiting. She's in Suffolk County near Babylon. I'm in the 60-65 group and can get an appointment any day I choose now that I'm eligible, if I start looking early in the AM. A snow storm may push my appointment back a few days, but there's no apparent shortage here.
ok.. I saw an announcement on the 26th but i wondered if that was really the date.. so just less than a month.. Still we went from 75 to 65 in just over 3 weeks with a 10 yr jump.. Going from 65 to 60 would imply 3 weeks is the high end hopefully when you factor in more vaccine and less older people but then we are also going to add some other people in a week to so who knows.feb 15th
There's been a big ramp up in availability of vaccines. Don't know if that will continue.ok.. Three cancellations seems very odd. You sure she hasn't been the one cancelling? It's weird that my ex-mother-in-law hasn't yet been able to get vaccinated on Long Island. I am looking at figures on the CDC web site for people vaccinated not vaccines given. You can select either view and that database shows the numbers I have quoted. I know how to read data and it is pretty straight forward if you use the right view. The numbers are updated at 8 PM every night. I know you think you are right but the CDC database says otherwise not me.I believe you are misinterpreting what the numbers say. But I've spent way too much energy on this.
Don't think so. I'll inquire more but it seems odd that an octogenarian wouldn't be prioritized at this point no matter what happened to cancel previous appointments. Could have been weather related as well but have been told it wasn't her cancelling them and that she's waiting on the site to set a new appointment. None of her kids live close by but think they've been actively trying to get it resolved. She may be set on waiting until her preferred site is ready for her, but it's been a good while...Three cancellations seems very odd. You sure she hasn't been the one cancelling?
Yes. That and selfishness. Can someone please tell me if any essential oils will accomplish the same as the vaccine to save me a trip out of the house?

CDC Data indicates approx. 28% have been vaccinated(at least one shot) as of today, with accelerating rates of vaccination nationwide should be near the 70%(believed necessary for herd immunity) by middle of May. This of course assumes people keep getting vaccinated at near the current rate.
Get vaccinated ASAP.
I don't believe the #s are that high. As of March 4th 16.3% of the US population had received at least one shot and 8.4% had received two shots. The latest estimates I saw was that we would get to 50% by early June.
I saw the number at 87,000,000+ having received at least one as of yesterday. If that is wrong then blame some statistician.
Numbers of shots given are now growing rapidly though, with the addition of J&J. I got one Friday(Pfizer) and wife got one saturday(Pfizer). Steady and large flow at fairgrounds throughout weekend with J&J being given through the night, Pfizer in day time hours. I assume other sites are experiencing similar increases.
From national database today: "2 doses given- 31,285,186, 1st dose given- 60,005,231" for a total of 91,290,417. National population 331,996,199 for a percentage for at least one shot given of 27.5 percent rounded. My figures for the weekend were pretty close to these.
As of March 8 CDC
30,686,881 full vaccinations
58,873,710 first vaccinations
90,351,750 doses total
You said earlier in this thread that at least 87 million people had received at least one dose. That's incorrect. I posted the actual numbers in this thread as well. The number, from the CDC today, based on numbers through yesterday, is just at 60 million. They've injected just about 91 million doses so far. But that's still only 60 million people.I am looking at figures on the CDC web site for people vaccinated not vaccines given. Still no appointments at NYS sites available in Erie County or Monroe County. I drove to Syracuse for my vaccinationApril 15 we’re going to be looking for people to entice to get vaccinated. We are moving through those who are desperate for the vaccine very quickly now.
That's reserved for the B. Gates Special Forces"Unknown," huh?
Creepy.
60-70%Okay, a question I want answered by you guys. Talking with some of my friends and their answers were all over the board. The casinos have started playing cash poker games with 7 or 8 players at a table. My question is...what % of the country will have to be vaccinated before casinos begin playing tournaments again? Yesterday, we were at about 9.4% Take a guess I am desperate for a trip to Las Vegas. I get my second shot tomorrow.
