i know a couple people who got an email with their appointment day/time 3 days prior to that appointment.
Do you know if they just choose the time for you, or do you get to pick from choices? I know beggars can't be choosers, I'll take what I can get, but need to adjust my work schedule accordingly.

honestly I’ve heard of both but mostly it’s picked for you.

the new openings came and went pretty fast today around the area. less than 5 min before they were all booked up.
Assume Re: Oncenter vaccinations Sunday -yeah no kidding!
Got the txt, went online, picked a time, took a little time to get the requested info from elderly relative, then when clicked "Next" response was that appt was taken/no longer available.
Apparently multiple people can select a time, then it's a race to complete the info(?)
Would be nice if selected time goes on hold for you to complete the transaction-
Like buying tix online!
Oh well, back to the daily checks for available vaccine appts

Just got my appt. moved up from April 3 to February 15. Woo hoo!
Actually my wife got me the appointment.
Pro tip - at a State center (SUNY Albany) even if everything looks booked online - Call. Make nice with the person on the other end of the line (in this case her name was Miracle - I kid you not). Ask her to refresh her computer screen for as many times as they are willing - and boom - a cancellation!

the online scheduling form form Kinneys is pretty lame.. i got the time.. struggled over the phone with the inlaws answering all the questions, by the time i finished the 2nd one had no times available.

1) the should start with a question of is it a couple.. then allow 1-2 to reserve together.
2) they should make it clear what info you need to fill it out ahead of time
3) not even sure all the required fields are really required because when its all done you get an email asking you to make sure you bring the required forms and links to fill them out again.

4) why not let you reserve the time and then complete the form later with another link.. if you dont complete it in some time frame the spot gets re-opened.

5) asking up front all the non-relevant info is a waste of time . if you get there and something is wrong you will have to be able to fix it anyway

Random question- Alaska resident here, but splitting time between AK and Nevada. It's safe to say that when it comes time for me to receive the vaccination, AK is where I'll need to do it? Or will Nevada say "alright, all younger, out of shape but otherwise healthy individuals, regardless of which state you reside, are now able to make appointments"?

Edit- In case it really does matter, I'm a democrat and I'm poor
;)

A need for UX rears its head again.

Has anyone here had the first Moderna vaccine with the county(Onondaga) and waiting to hear back from the county on the second? They said they will contact us within a week before our scheduled shot. I'm not quite there yet, but my co-worker is due in six days for shot two and hasn't been emailed or called yet. Their website says, and I was told, that they would contact us directly. Just starting to get a little antsy. Thanks.
In Onondaga, had my first Moderna. Speaking to someone form the County you/we shoudl get e-mails between 7 to 1 day before the date for the second shot. It is unnerving, but I was told they have the second doses.

We have appointments for March through our medical provider. Yesterday my husband got an email from DHHS concerning vaccination management. Thinking this must be another step in the process I go to the link. I have to set up an account then answer a lot of questions about his age, gender, ethnicity and health. At the end I'm informed that my husband might be eligible to get a vaccination. This after he was already approved and has an appointment to get the vaccination.

I think, at least at this point, you would need to get the vaccine in the state of your legal residence.

Thanks! That's what I figured but wanted to double check.

LadyTroop is scheduled to get hers next month I think. They consider her "Faculty" at UNLV for some reason, which jumps her up the list a bit. I told her I'd still love her if she ends up growing a third arm.

So, I'm more than 24 hrs after my second shot. Fortunately, I only felt maybe 10% worse than after the first. The worst part for me was the headache yesterday. This morning still had that, but not as bad, along with a little fatigue and maybe some general body stiffness that never became achiness. My temp may have been a little elevated compared to my normal but never exceeded 100. I didn't have trouble working a full normal day today. All in all, not bad.

THere sb a game show where Steve Harvey calls the name out of the next COVID. 19 vaccination winner.

but you got to be there to win

This entire rollout is a mess. It’s like tossing paper towels to individuals victims of a disaster
This was a damned if you do damned if you don't situation. There are nowhere near enough doses yet for everyone, so there are going to be a lot of disappointed people for a while. Starting with the people that are required to have the most contact with the highest risk people and then moving on to those highest risk people made sense. It's hard to plan when you don't know exactly how much or when you will have stuff available. Typically, people would go to their doctors or pharmacies to get this type of thing, but with the supply so low, that couldn't happen. Eventually it will. We're only about 6 weeks into even having a vaccine available.

OK how long did we know that we are going to have vaccinations. Did we think the vaccinations were going to take years ? Did anybody ever think about contingency planning For the rollout ? We knew we were going to get these at some point. Actually I think it’s been five month.

warp speed for getting a vaccine Helter skelter for getting them into arms. Just give them to the states not my job. 50 different states or 50 different ways of doing things no federal oversight no federal plan.

We are with a war with COVID-19. We live in the United States of America we should’ve been doing this together!

I was escorted to my vaccine in a stretch Escalade (I know what you were thinking and yes the rims were spinnin) and it was given to me in a plush “clinic” with leather seats and shoe shine boys after which I was served lobster topped with tacos.

The vaccines are getting out. People are getting mad because they're having trouble getting placed on a list. That's because someone else got the spot first which means the vaccine is getting to someone. It's not perfect, but it's improving.

Yeah, we knew we were getting a vaccine, but we didn't how much at what time. Tell you what, I'm going to give you some food. I'm not going to tell you how much or when I'm dropping it off. What I want you to do is build a pantry that it will fit in. Have it done by the time I drop it off. Don't make it too big though. We don't want wasted space.

Exactly, you mean a country of 350 million people + getting two different Vaccines piecemeal and trying to distribute them to 50 states plus territories and DC isn't going smooth, shocking. I don't know exactly what people expected but this was always going to be a cluster at first no matter who was in charge.

It was always going to be a cluster because of who was initially in charge.
