From 1983 to 1990 we got a McDonald’s All-American every single season except 1987 but we got 2 in 1986 to average it out.Coleman wasn't the #1 or #2 recruit when we got him back on thanksgiving of '86. He was way down the list. He came on like a demon as the season went on. But that is the truth. We had two not one, back up guards. We had a center that hadn't done a thing and a swing forward that really couldn't score. Going in to the season, things were not so bright.

Point is talent wasn’t an issue for the program back then. Even if people were worried post 1986 season the talent was coming in.
Our talent the last 3 seasons is nowhere close to the talent we were bringing in the 1980s.
Jim Boeheim is a better coach now I believe and I don’t expect to be terrible next year. I just expect we will be mediocre in the regular season like we have the last 6 years and try to grind onto the good side of the bubble.
Eventually that gets tiresome.
