I absolutely love this publicity opportunity and think this is very creative and forward thinking by Fran.

During intersquad scrimmage spring games, the offense and defense have a vested interest in not lighting each other up with knockout hits because they’re ultimately all on the same team. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed during this thing that the same mentality applies for this game. I’m hoping Fran and Deion develop a set of parameters like nothing even closely resembling a chop block, QB is two hand touch, etc.

The goal here is lots of national publicity and minimal if not zero injuries.

I feel confident that 2 of the greatest showmen in the sport agree it’s about publicity and not getting injured 5 months before the season actually begins.

Exactly. Both coaches want the publicity for their programs but also want to draw attention to things like financial education for these players when it comes to the money they are now making and managing it in a smart way

Just to be in Prime’s orbit is great for Syracuse football. In Fran we trust!!!

It would also be an ACC school and a B12 school getting all that First Mover Earned Media (instead of anyone from the SEC and/ or B1G).

This is high on my list of reasons I hope it happens.

I doubt this happens...but if it does I have confidence in Sanders ability and willingness to share the spotlight. Rich Eisen talks about how when he was on a show at NFL Network, Deion was the front facing guy most focused on making sure everyone got quality air time. That might be because he knows he can suck all the air out of the room and was consciously working not to - but it made an impact on Eisen since he tries to do that with his podcast now. This would be a situation where Deion knows everyone has to walk away feeling like a winner for it to be a success - so he'd find a way to get Fran and Syracuse plenty of good exposure.

Deion is a weirdly polarizing guy - so many people in the general public can't stand him, but plenty of the folks he's worked with (including our Tim Green) absolutely love the guy. He's gotta be showing a different side of his character when the bright lights are off.
