Nixon has to be salivating watching the strong arm hitting all those deep crossing routes on the tape. Wanted this guy bad, his high school and elite 11 tape is crazy good. The upside here is worth the risk, if they are comfortable with Williams being the floor and this guy the ceiling next season so am I. LGO!!

Not sure what to expect with Collins.
4-star QB who originally committed to Purdue (?!) but was talked into staying home by Brian Kelly.
I saw an article where he said he was also pursued by FSU and Penn State.

Only appeared in mop-up time in three games this year. 5 for 5 on the season.
Then, during the Florida game, AJ Swann becomes Nussmeier's backup and Collins doesn't set foot on the field again.

I hope he's got an accurate arm and he's not a guy who would rather run than attempt a tough pass.

I’d take as many as possible. With Collins having 3 years i would go for someone with experience if they pop up. Otherwise it’s going to be a big roll of the dice going into next year. We could see anything from Drew Allen to CDRW to someone very good. Not the year i’d want a lot of uncertainty. Also, who else was after Collins?

You really poo poo’ing this commit? No ones predicting him to replace McCord, or even to be ordained starter. It’s nice to learn that your stars been denied his appeal then land a 4 star big prospect within essentially the same 48 hours. I trust Fran and I can see the bar for talent rising on the qb chart.

Brohm knows QBs. If anything that should be even more of an endorsement.

I also wonder if he requested to not play so he could hit the portal, and that's when Swann became the backup.

You’re reading it correctly. I wish there was and i hope it turns out there is just nothing to be excited about. He hasn’t played in 2 years. It’s the same thing with everyone being all excited about CDRW and Davis that i didn’t understand? None have achieved anything at this level as of yet. He will be as big a question mark as if it were someone already on the roster who has yet to play. I would have thought as fans we would have learned our lessons not to by hyped over someone who hasn’t played in 2 years. Not to mention he wasn’t nearly as decorated as the others. Sure, he hasn't played yet but he was stuck behind a Heisman winner, and an extremely solid Nussmeier.

Also, go watch their HS tapes. It's not comparable.

Needlessly negative. There isn’t another McCord out there. Unless you’ve scouted him trust the coaches and let it play out.

I watched several Liberty games because they were on on Wednesday nights, and I’d rather have an unproven commodity than Salter. He was unimpressive.
