This is a good article comparing Angeli and the other guy he competed with (and beat out) for the backup job at QB.
It says Angeli was considered the 365th best players in his class. That was 247. No it sure if they are also considered suspect by you.
As the article points out, Steve had a shortened senior season because of COVID.
Looks like Rickie was rated as the 248th player in his class by 247.
I don’t know who is going to end up the starting QB and I don’t have an opinion yet. But I understand why Syracuse is interested in Steve. As noted, there are a lot of things to like about him.. Rickie has a lot going for him as well. A terrific dual threat type QB with a strong arm is a great place to start.
For those not paying attention, the staff appears to value dual threat QBs over pocket passers. We seem to target the dual threat guys a lot more than. traditional pocket passers. One of the nice things about this offense is that it is flexible enough to accolade both types of QBs.
Anyway, I hope Steve comes here. It would be great to see them battle head to head for the starting job at QB this fall.
I hope it happens.
