Recruiting QBs

You recruit one QB a year. Full stop. If you can take a solid developmental guy as a PWO, you do it. But you reserve one scholarship per class for a QB. Ideal roster balance should be 4 QBs, 1 each frosh through senior. This is exactly what we've done. Amie transferring out and the class overlap between Rex and Clayton have skewed the roster. As long as we bring one in each class, we'll be fine. Obviously, if we can grab Fortin we should. But one scholarship QB each of the next two classes puts us right back on track.

I don't know but that would be my guess. Also not unlikely they have a recent class where they took two, not uncommon.

Since QB is such a critical position and it’s hard to judge which ones have it and which ones don’t (Burrow had 1 offer!)...

Doesn’t it make sense to bring in a few extra every year and take a chances on guys that appear to be too smalll or too slow and are headed to a lower team or lower division?

The kid gets a chance to compete at the highest level when no one else will give him a shot. If it doesn’t work out he can transfer down anyway. When he transfers, both parties are whole again.

Just makes sense to take more shots at a game changing player.

IMO, dino has been laxed with the QB position after signing td. He went all in on td and yes, missed on some recruits, but we are awful thin and now need a grad transfer this cycle. Td has arm talent but may lack the pocket presence and that moxy to play when the first few reads aren't there.this program and the fans underestimated Ed's contribution the last few years.
