This was never a serious thing. Even in D2 and D3, successful coaches often make the job almost their entire lives let alone half-assing it like Gottlieb.

There’s no way Red gets fired unless he loses the rest of the games and then its still 60/40 he gets another year.

He’s not getting fired. Don’t know how many times I have to say this. Why does everyone continue down this road ? Sadiq and Kiyan on slamHS instagram today. 1.6 million people will see that. That stuff matters now these days (fortunately or unfortunately). Kids want to play for Red. His coaching must improve (I know).

Who said that? I know I didn’t. But you have 2 top 30 kids who are coming to play here next year who are getting national exposure. It helps the program and it helps with fundraising. And they are coming to play for Autry. Man some of you will literally find anything bad to say

It sounds funny. Maybe I'm getting old if Slam views matter. When I head to work tomorrow and sit quiet as people talk about the Badgers and Marquette, I can now pipe up about our slam views.

If Red isn’t fired this year, he sure as heck needs to quickly figure out how to build a roster and actually coach a team. White and Anthony aren’t going to change this team. He really needs them to exceed expectations while also finding 5 or 6 other transfers that can make a significant difference.
It’s a super tall task. I’m not sure he’s capable of pulling it off. We all know if he can’t make the NCAA next year he’s likely gone.

I know this has been an especially tough year as you are close to Red and see how hard he works
Could I ask, do you see Red as being able to learn from this year and doing what it takes to improve? Is he open to new ideas, strategies, etc?
That was the frustration in the end with JB. Stubbornness and not admitting reality at times. If Red can learn/grow, and get a better roster, we can be back in business
I think almost everyone on the board would love to see Red turn it around, but it’s difficult to see the path with the product we’ve seen this year

The coaching staff has alot of work to do to make next years team even decent.
What is our roster next year?
potentially...Bell, Petar, JJ, Moore, Cuffe, Chance and Freeman.
...Anthony, white, womack and Fennell?
subtract Freeman=gone & Westry?
I read scholarships going to 15.
So we could potentially need to add 6 more scholly players. Plus whatever surprises happen.
Per usual we need a center and PG.
who knows now? But we need a couple bullies. We are so soft.
I was gonna write more but theres no way to know what our roster will be like next year.
1 thing is clear...we need some goons.
Only players on this years team that dont scream soft...Cuffe and Petar.
Thought Davis would be there but ??

i respect that view. but bulldog wouldn’t you say the opportunity cost of keeping red and losing merchandise, conceccisons, and ticket sales + brand value is higher than paying 2 coaches at once.
if that’s the case they shouldn’t blink at firing him regardless who’s coming in
lol my man. rutgers had the #2 and #3 recruit. look at them. does it help the program if we suck ? no.

Totally agree. Sick of watching this damn ISO JB offense for years and years now. One guy dribbles around, then maybe someone sets a pick while three other guys stand around. What kind of offense is that and the defense is really bad too. Red ain't the answer and needs to go just like Woodson at IU.
