"I would love to coach the big men at SU. I only have two teams that I root for, SU basketball, SU football. Please put in a good word for me. There are a lot of little things I see that I could help them with."

Interesting possibility. It's not a recruiting position per se, so that would not be an issue. Has he had any coaching experience?

I have always wondered about this possibility but did not think he would have an interest. Maybe I will stop by the gym and see if he is there to ask him.

I know a lot of people would love Herm Harried to come in and coach here. He's another possibility. It will be interesting to see in JB sits pat for the rest of the season and hire someone after the season is over or just leaves Jerry in the slot.

...believe we need a big man in here...and by the way...did not see much improvement from Fine coached big men recently...take away Jackson and O and we are average at rebounding and getting ball into block...anyone brought in would be better than what we got now...no offense to Hop or anyone else

I always have been a huge Rosie fan...he is one of my all-time favorite Cuse players. I am sure he would be a great big guy coach, but I gotta think in terms of what he has been doing lately that the Helicoptor would be a better choice, especially in regrads to recruiting.

My guess is that ifthe BF thing stays as is and we hire a coach, he will be from outside the program.

Herm would be a better a recruiter but Bouie would be a better big man coach.. It all comes down to JB feels the team needs the most. Both are class acts.

How about one of these two guys? Could you even imagine?

I would love Rosie ... but Herm would also be an excellent coach as well. Just keep bringing our guys home.

I'd like to see Rosie helping in any capacity possible, even if he's not one of the four coaches. He's a bright guy, is a terrific role model, and has a wealth of knowledge to share with the bigs (who look to need that help right now). Get him in there. Bouie's the sort of person the university needs to have around.

As long as he doesn't teach FT shooting

Harried has coaching experience, but he was a forward, not a center. The moves are different; the game is different.

With GMAC being promoted to a full time assistant wouldn't the only opening be for an unpaid graduate assistant type role? Would love to see Rosie on the bench, but don't see him enrolling as a grad student. Would have been a great opportunity for AO last year, but can't think of any other recent grads that fit the bill.

Lets just assume that Herm is the better recruiter, and Rosie is the better coach. If all else is equal, then I think it depends on whether or not the one-year rule has changed or not (has that information come out yet?). If kids continue to have to come to college, then I want Herm, because we will continue to have knock heads with the best schools for the rights to the top 2 or 3 bigs a year. Most of whom probably don't plan on being here more than two years when they sign. But if kids are allowed to go pro, then we are looking at a situation where we probably go back to focusing more heavily on swing players, and bringing in project centers that will be around 3-4 years and need a better coach... hence Rosie.

who knows-if this season pans out with a nc i can see jimmy walking away-
then hop hires one of them-

has any school ever had nothing but alum as assistants and coach?

winning a NC will just fuel JB to stay.

My personal prefrence would be this guy:

He abused Ewing. Nothing more to say other than, "It has been said.":)
