Saint Dougie...

I think that the management, coaching staff and the team will make a big jump forward after the bye. They have 2 home games and could build some huge momentum if they can win them both. Cincy and LAC aren't super strong but the Jags have yet to win at home so they have something to prove.

Doug Marrone's biggest fan (sarcasm) Marcell Dareus was just traded from Buffalo to Jacksonville. Hope Marcell has those team socks on at all time

If you remember Marcell said this when Doug left Buffalo Ex-Bills coach Doug Marrone was 'anal' and 'seemed miserable,' Marcell Dareus tells NFL Network

For only a 6th round pick but if you consider his terribly bloated contract, his antics off field and mediocre play on field, its a terrible trade by Jax. Not to mention he apparently didnt like Marrone. On paper tho, the Jags have an insane D.

Why the crap didn't the Bills get one of the WRs the Jags don't need?

Wait Dareus with Malik Jackson and those DE’s. If he brings it with the change of scenery that solves the interior run problems. And given all the known negatives why would they make the deal unless they know something. No risk huge upside. Brilliant

That's a coup by Brandon Beane to unload the worst contract in the NFL and get a 5th round pick as well. I'm shocked that Coughlin signed off.

because dareus is a fat loser with a terrible contract, why would the jags give them a wr?

Agreed, I think the bills will bring in rod streater when he gets healthy as well and watching the game today they seemed to have wide receivers open and enough talent for now

Dareus was a disaster and like you said the worst contract in the nfl.. good riddance.

Why would they give them a pick?

Look I don't cheer for these teams. I just am amused by then.

Marrone just took a flyer. If he’s a cancer they’ll just cut him. Instead of a bag of footballs they probably offered a 7th rounder, Bill’s asked for 6th. If it was a 5th, Jags would just say keep him.

Bills are turning over the roster, stockpiling for the post Brady AFC East, and seem to have found a head coach who knows how to win football games. I’m not questioning them anymore.

i'm still worried that this is all smoke and mirrors with all the turnovers but we're almost halfway there, season is short enough where they can keep getting lucky. defense is sound. offense is fine now that they're back to last year's offense.

Marcell may not like Coach Marrone, but the two years that Marrone coached him Dareus played well enough to be selected for the Pro Bowl.

From and article by Ryan Talbot: Although Dareus complained about being micro-managed, he had two of his best seasons under Marrone. Dareus appeared in the Pro Bowl in Marrone's two seasons as head coach and recorded 120 total tackles and 17.5 sacks. If Dareus can puts up similar numbers in Jacksonville, Marrone probably won't hold any grudges towards the defensive tackle.

It's possible, but getting very close to the house money scenario. I don't think anyone thought this team would win more than 6, they could get there Thursday with half a season remaining.

I thought yesterday's win was really impressive, considering how Oakland looked like they had snapped out of it last week against KC.

Tommy and Saint Doug are after Megatron now. I've seen another team doing moves like this, let me see if I can remember their name... Oh yeah, the New England Patriots.

Plz do not put the Jaguars and Patriots in the same sentence unless you are talking about Marrone fetching Belicheck's coffee. They are 4-3 in the worst division in the NFL. If Watson keeps playing like he has, than Houston is going to catch them in the standings. I will say that the Jags do have an impressive defense so far.

I think the NFL is so unpredictable that turnovers -- lucky or forced -- are almost always a difference between the 'good' teams and the 'bad' teams. That's not to say there aren't some pretty good teams out there but a huge percentage of the league is in the category of somewhere in the neighborhood of .500 to start the season and the teams that force/get lucky with turnovers end up with 10 wins and the teams that don't fall to that 6-10/7-9 season with a bunch of close losses.

I thought the other nice thing Sunday was how they played after getting the big lead (27-7). They gave up a TD but at least made the Raiders take a bit of time (4+ minutes) and forced them to run 9 plays. Not great defense, but a desperate team throwing every down always tends to come up with a TD at some point. The Bills then got it back and took nearly 6 mins. off the clock before punting it away from Raiders territory. That essentially ends much hope of a Raiders comeback, but to close it out, they stop the Raiders on three straight plays at midfield, break Shady free for the score and then come up with the last pick.

Finishing games hasn't been a thing in buffalo for a long time and it seems like this team is tough to completely put away, and seems to do a nice job finishing out wins:

NYJ -- Forced a 3-and-out; got the ball and took 2+mins and all three jets TOs on the next drive; then picked the Jets off to end it
DEN -- Interception; 16-play 7+ min drive and FG; defensive stop to end it
ATL -- After the Falcons tie it on a long drive, Bills go long FG; get an INT; long FG (to force the Falcons to score a TD) and eventually get a stop.

That's four (if you include the Raiders game) times they've played really solid football to close out a win. Tampa was some luck, but they also must feel like they could very easily have won either the Carolina game or the Cincy game so I feel like those sort of even out.

Anyway, been fun to watch so far and I'd agree, they are pretty close to house money time. Have to feel good about McDermott.

I guess you don't remember BB quiting at the press conference the day after he was being hired by the Jets.

It's going to be funny when the Bills don't make the playoffs.

Houston still has to play the Rams, Ravens, Titans, Jacksonville on the road, and host Pittsburgh. They still get the Colts twice, Cardinals and 49ers at home.

Jacksonville is a game ahead with remaining road games are the Browns, Cardinals, 49ers, and the Titans. Other than Tennessee all their hard games are at home, Bengals, Chargers, Seahawks, Texans. The other home game is the Colts.

Bills have to have one of the hardest remaining schedules. Pats twice, Saints at home, at KC and Chargers. Division games at NY, and two with the Dolphins. One layup hosting the Colts. That's tough.
