But this is more coverage than an SU football game has received in a long time. I've seen a bunch of ads for it, it was on the sidebar of the Mike & Mike informercial this morning. Definitely a little publicity for a program desperate for some publicity.

Is it only b/c of ND? Would it happen if the game was in Syracuse? I guess, but the fact remains there is some solid pub around this game, which I think is one of the points of playing in NYC.

I agree. Saw the game advertised all day on ESPN the other day and I can't recall the last time that happened.

It would not have received the same pub if the game was played in Syracuse, nor would it receive the same buzz from recruits, and that's all I have to say.

We've played metro nyc 4 times the past several years. I bet we haven't gotten a recruit because of it.

Recruits I figure would really, really want to play in an NFL stadium in the biggest city in the greatest country in the world. Merica.

No doubt. But they want to win too. So far we are 0-2. Let's hope it's 1-2 after Saturday.

Clearly Ishaq, Gus and Holley were all eager to stay home and play a game at MetLife...can we stop with the notion that this game is about recruiting?

The IPF helps recruiting. Staff stability helps recruiting. The upgrades in the football facility helps recruiting.

Above all, winning more games helps recruiting. This buzz does nothing unless SU comes out tomorrow night and wins.

Exposure doesn't help? Even when you hang with number two USC until the 4th quarter?

You can't throw out 3 guys who went to schools that we will never beat out for recruits to prove this point. The recruits to look at are the next step down on the ladder. The guys looking at SU, Rutgers, BC, Pitt, etc. ND, FSU, Miami, etc will beat us out 999 out of 1000, regardless.

Hopefully set the tone for some 6th through 10th graders as well. National exposure is always a good thing as long as the team and fans do their part.

Just win baby!

A few extra million $, used appropriately, should, in theory, help the program, especially when the deal was done, and the situation the program was looking at.

You aren't being genuine, unless you look at the time frame this deal was made, and its seeming importance at the time. Few are foolish enough to think it is a great deal now, but, I seriously doubt this deal would ever have been done, if they had known SU would be in the ACC in 2014. At this point, all they can do is suck it up and stick their hands out at the end of the day. It wouldn't hurt if they could start putting some W's up in the series.

Why not throw those guys out there? If the goal of playing in NYC is to get the area's best talent, aren't those the examples to use? How else can you judge the "recruiting impact"...like I said, these games alone aren't helping recruiting, winning games is.

IMO, his would be one of the most shocking wins we've had in the last decade, right up there with the 'ville win under Grob.

We were something like a 35 point underdog that day, Vegas would disagree.

You realize since 2009 EVERY SINGLE Notre Dame game on ESPN/ABC has been a prime time game with exception of 1 game in 2012 between Notre Dame and Pittsburgh which was given exclusivity of a 12pm start on ABC.

My god that THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH METLIFE. ESPN put Notre Dame on night for ratings. Mike Golic plugs ND whenever he can. Wow, lets give credit to Metlife for getting us more attention when 2 years ago we PLAYED the #2 in the country and NOBODY cared.

So angry, find a hobby bud.

I call a spade a spade. If somebody want to spread a message that easily countered then I will counter it so a false narrative isn't repeated. Metlife has nothing to do with the attention we are getting its Notre Dame on an ESPN/ABC platform.
