When was the last time a P5 team played in Amherst? I gave up looking when I reached 2008. None. No P5 team is ever going to schedule a game in a 17K dump like McGuirk.

If you want to keep beating this drum, be my guest. It will just be a waste of effort, though.

If UMass was able to get a home/home with Missouri and we had to take a paycheck game for our 2012 game against them doesn’t that imply Dr. Gross did a terrible job with Missouri?

I don’t really think many other SEC teams or P5 teams will do home/home with UMass with the road game at Amherst.
Missouri is likely the exception. I don’t see many teams flying to Hartford or Boston and busing I-90 to get to Amherst.

What do you think coaches talk about with recruits?
If Rutgers or UConn or BC or Pitt is going after the same player as us, you don't think they mention who beat who? You don't think that factors into a kid's college decision? "We can get you ready for the NFL, young man, and you will get a great education here."

Another option is a 3-for-2. Spread it out over 10 years to best fill out our 7 home game schedules.
Add some fine print such that if they drop to FCS before our 2nd visit that that game is dropped and their 3rd visit to the Dome will be an inexpensive buy game.

Our fans get 6-7 home games a year and Boston College and Pitt on the road every other year.

UConn football doesn’t excite Syracuse football fans and the series doesn’t give Syracuse leverage to schedule other series.

If we played UConn in a series that was to Syracuse’s incentive like a 3 for 2 okay.
1-1 is just terrible scheduling and the AD needs to do better.

It’s bad scheduling not just because it’s freakin UConn but even JW said we are trying to get 7 home games every year. A 1-1 does not help that effort. A 2-1 probably would. When we play a scrub, it should be a 2-1 if not a 1-0. The goal is 7 home games every single year.

We have open dates...in 22 and 23.

Nothing has been confirmed it is a true home and home yet...let's wait.

Really glad this mentality is not shared by Dino, Wildhack, et al.

We need W’s. Period, end of story.
There are no bonus points for degree of difficulty.

L’s to big name programs = L’s.
Period.
There are no good L’s.

We haven’t won a game in the OOC vs a “big name program” in ages.

We get Clemson every year.
Ditto FSU.
And ND every few years also.

We absolutely, positively do NOT need to add additional difficult games to our schedule.

I'm ready to have big names back on our schedule. Not anything crazy like 1998, but I think we can handle it.

I didn't want it when we fell to the depths of hell, but I think we're past it. Yeah, bad hiccup in 2019, but we'll overcome that.

Add some variety to the schedule, interesting variety.

I don't see why we can't compete with some of the teams in the Dome. Interesting doesn't just mean Alabama. Both LSU games were there for the taking, and for one of them we had Zack Mahoney at QB!
