Oh, I understood your point. Battle is our best player. He's hurt. We are done. My point is it could all fall into a total abyss if he gets hurt and we literally have no one to replace him.
When was the last time we had went into the season with one 2 guard? Maybe we will go the 5th year market route, but even that's like... whatever.

Kid had a shot to come to Cuse and most likely start. While this hurts our team, it also scares the heck out of me about our future. Not closing here is big.

There's no reason for misinforming Adam Zagoria. It's not some sort of covert action. It's not like Ayala had an ultimatum, so what would be his reason for lying to Zags? I get your point but it wouldn't make sense.

Most of the frustration on my end is for one our roster has been so incomplete that it's crazy and it's been this way like we are just barely scraping by and filling the voids. What is our staff thinking lately? And I think what's more frustrating is we all just want some good news...we usually never have a problem with landing 1 or 2 top notch guys a class and for 17 we literally have struck out on EVERYONE...mind you i think some of our guys are much better then what they were ranked (oshae and bourama) but still...we have swung for the fences and completely missed on this entire cycle with all the main players. Why? That's the scary part

Maybe that creates some type of eligibility problems/concerns that he and the team don't want while he's playing? It's pretty flimsy, but that's all I could think of.

Wildhack's decision to retain JB for the sake of continuity and to avoid losing recruits is starting to look pretty short-sighted. What, may I ask, are we clinging to?

Nobody wants to come here precisely because we are prolonging the inevitable and we have a staff who will believe the earth is flat if a high school kid says so. We're now the fat girl with the cute face that looks good in the dark... and if we're lucky, the guys we like stay in touch just in case we lose some weight.

I'm not any of them but I find it real odd that we wanted Kevin Huerter to wait a year and he wouldn't but Ayala and Hamier Wright both had a chance to suit up for Syracuse and chose not to and decided to put college off a year. Just really odd.

According to Verbal Commits we have one open offer for 2017 but 19 open offers for 2018. Let's hope next year is fruitful. Let's also hope that the grad transfer market brings us another JGIII and AWIII.

I like Zags but he doesn't usually break a lot of stories. Seems to rehash more than he initiates. That being said he is also a Kentucky fan. Maybe he is wrong. Maybe this is a bad dream.

If Ayala stays in 2018, there is no reason not to call Tremont Waters. None.

If we go with another 5th YR, going into 2018 our only 2 guards will be a senior Frank Howard and sophomore Howard Washington. Battle is gone after next year, so would the 5th year.
