I would think the school would at least release something once it hopefully becomes official though.

That makes no sense. He should try to make the best possible press release. Getting drafted into the NBA is all about branding. Malachi did a masterful job after the season ended selling himself for the draft. There's a lot more to this game than just playing basketball.

I agree that it doesn't make business sense. But the notion that he's dragging this out so Izzo will think they were in realistic contention is even more silly. Today is the traditional Friday news dump, so it would only be fitting if he breaks his silence at, say, 4:59 pm.

I'd just caution--let's not start attaching artificial significance to today as some kind of milestone. Because then people will start to interpret it that they should expect an announcement today, and if / when it doesn't happen then the hand-wringing will commence ten-fold.

I agree for the most part. On other hand, if we all have positive thoughts about it then maybe by Sheldrake's 100th monkey effect we may get the actual announcement!

If that were true, at all, why have workouts, and how do all of the foreign dudes, with no brand, get drafted? Why are there scouting departments? GM's could just use Q rankings to make up their draft boards. Would save a lot of money.

I think by the end of the TT recruitment we all kind of assumed he would never commit anywhere. This has been such a fast process we're all kind of surprised each day when it's not over.

All I know is advertising works. If AW3 wants to get drafted he has to have a career game against Duke. Malachi played 8 good minutes of basketball during the Elite 8 game and made millions of dollars.
