Sooo…Does Fran get poached?

One of the biggest factors in HCFB’s longevity here rests in the willingness of supporters to provide NIL funds in my opinion.

If the support doesn’t come, it will be a big factor in his long term plans. And they’re realistic, they know we’ll never be Georgia. But we can, and will need to, do better.

Things change and guys get frustrated

Nothing occurs in a vacuum. Marrone had his dream job and then complained about the dream job

Fran will be frustrated by Syracuse too. It’s impossible to not be versus the big boys. His willingness to make it as perfect as possible vs leaving will be his test of human nature

Boeheim and P were happy w the imperfections and lifestyle of CNY. Hopefully Fran is too.

Jeff Nixon play for West Virginia…they just let go of there head coach today.
It sounds like Barry Odom ends up there. Their AD and Odom were at Mizzou together apparently.

I've said before SU will never compete in the coach arms race if he hit on a good one. Instead of lamenting that fact take the opportunity to make the Dome a lab for hotshot young innovative coaches. If they have enough success to get poached that's a good thing and find the next one. Eat sleep rave repeat.
Why not? Fran showed an available path to the CFP. Absent a rare season, only the big name teams in the SEC/Big10 will go to the CFP. Fran can compete year in and year out.

Now, can Fran Brown the messenger be repeated once he is gone? Who knows? But that isn’t now. For the first time since coach Mac - early PP years, we have a HC who can win a NC, and lots of conference championships.
Fran is a force of nature. He is also a rarity. He says what he means, and does what he says. Parents will trust him to help their boys become good men. When that happens, the whole recruiting world will open up. Money is important, but others things are just as important, if not more so. (We have to be in the discussion money wise, to be sure.)
For Fran Brown, the heretofore dormant FB money will make sure he has what he needs.

Nope.

Maybe it’s games against:

Tennessee
At ND
At Miami
At Clemson
At Gt Tech

Underdogs in all those games. Home schedule isn’t exactly favorable either. UNC, Pitt, BC, and Duke.

No McCord…7-5 would be a great season.
That’s tough for sure, but for the first time in years, maybe decades, I can see some light here with Fran. We went down 21 against Miami and still beat those urban trolls where in the past we would normally roll over and take our usual massive beat down.If we can get some really solid QB play next year (and I realize this is a huge if) and shore up the defense a bit we have a good chance to come out better than expected…

Don’t forget @SMU ;)

Potentially 6 preseason top 20 away/neutral site games depending on how GT is looked at

1. I believe Fran when he says he wants to be here. I think I will be more worried if we maintain this success over 4 or so years.

2. Rotating through coaches can be a good thing. Look at Cincinnati. Mark Dantonio to Brian Kelly to Butch Jones to Tommy Tuberville to Luke Fickell. 15 bowl games in 19 seasons. They finished ranked 8 times.

Even if Fran moves on if we make smart hired the success can be sustained

Perception is reality. Doug potentially thought, or was sold, the Syracuse job was something it wasn't but also his mentality wasn't conducive to dealing with the recruiting and mentoring side of things.

Doug vs Fran are apples to Volkswagens comparison in that regard as Fran lives for it. Things can change and I hope, if we go 6-6 or worse in next year's meat grinder of a schedule, CNY and us fans remain supportive and don't give Fran reasons to second guess what can be achieved at SU

I'm calling 8-4 next year.

Going to Edit this... 8-4 with being RANKED as we will be beating previous years RANKs and have a hard schedule.

OC22, I'd like to see Frans assistants get better gigs like HC and for Fran and SU to be thee college football king for future HC's. No way better to recruit good coaches than that.

If it is true that Fran has "Fran guys" who provided him NIL funds then its definitely possible he would be willing to jump to somewhere with better boosters. He can clearly recruit and, with the right coordinators, he might win a championship at even a tier 2 school (like a Wisconsin, Auburn).
