Sooo…Does Fran get poached?

Fran has seen how Jim Boeheim was able to build an empire here.

He sees it similarly and wants to do it on the football side.

We are a dream location for him and we play indoors.

Crowds like Saturday show him it’s possible. And now he’s winning the recruiting battles.

Fran will be here to stay as long as we want him
I tend to agree with this. He's built differently. I normally refuse to let myself think this but I'd be really bummed if he ever left just for a huge bag. I don't think he's that guy. Granted, we have to do right by him and that includes making sure NIL is up to par and everything else. But he knew some of the limitations and we're doing a lot to fix things for him...so I don't think we will let him down.

I'd feel a whole lot better if the community started supporting NIl more aggressively, especially NY-based businesses. That's where we can make up a big gap and businesses should want to join this bandwagon now.

Also, I assure you he's not leaving for Rutgers. I've heard him talk about Rutgers privately that I really don't think we have to worry about that.

This is actually great news to hear as that would be the one place I would be worried about.

I hope businesses after this season, can see how important they can be and how incredibly important a great Syracuse Athletics program is to them.

The more people wanting to attend these games the more people that will come into town.

And that directly leads to these businesses making more $$$$.

If you’re a business on here, reach out to the university, I’m sure they can direct you in the right direction to get involved!!!

Wegmans would be a nice one along with Drivers village

Totally agree. He's ours to lose more than someone else's to gain.

Not only that, but Schiano is 58. He's going to be there for at least the next 10 years, maybe more.

They'll never fire him, and he won't leave. Not after the Tampa Bay fiasco and then the Tennessee Vols fiasco, where their fanbase went Syracusefan.com Chris Ash X 5 million after his name surfaced as the front runner.

I’m reading through this thread and I find this as I’m on the pooper prepping for my colonoscopy tomorrow am.

I laughed and pooped…a lot.
You started that God awful drink early

I'm going to enjoy Fran every minute he's with us. I love that he's our coach. But if in two years, USC or Florida State or Oklahoma comes calling and offers him double the salary, I'm not going to be confused and faint. It's just how the universe works.
And that means SU had some kick ass years for other teams to come knocking.

Meiers creek…oh wait

Or maybe a jump back to the NFL as OC.
Yes, he gets poached. While working to get McCord Brown asked him to come to boost Brown's job resume. He evidently cares about his career path and Syracuse is not the end of his career path. He is ambitious.

Your saying you have knowledge that Fran asked McCord, to help boost his resume at Cuse?

Not now - now meaning the next 4 years at the least. JW will see that his compensation is increased to a very nice number and perhaps his contract is for 6 years.

How do you know this? This seems like a statement Fran would never make.

How do you know this? Were you in Frans pocket while he was meeting with Kyle? This sounds like something Fran would never say.

1. I believe Fran when he says he wants to be here. I think I will be more worried if we maintain this success over 4 or so years.

2. Rotating through coaches can be a good thing. Look at Cincinnati. Mark Dantonio to Brian Kelly to Butch Jones to Tommy Tuberville to Luke Fickell. 15 bowl games in 19 seasons. They finished ranked 8 times.

Even if Fran moves on if we make smart hired the success can be sustained
Exactly. This 9-3 team ending the regular season as it did is going to stir excitement among HS players in the northeast. And Brown has the recruiting chops to land a nice share of the top ones for Syracuse. Add on his ties to recruiting the South, and Cuse having all these ACC games to help with that, and Syracuse football could be starting a steady run of nice winning seasons. From 9-3 it is fairly easy to get to 10-2 and even 11-1.

He said that in a press conference recently. I saw it. Though it looks way worse on paper than it sounded when he said it. Pretty sure it was the Miami post game presser.
