Not sure I follow Long Island's post. We slapped the press on UNC and got to a tied game. They only score again because we turned it over, our defense was stopping them.

I agree my friend, thats my argument, consider playing other defenses for sig minutes , it's called adaptation and something Coach K did taking on our zone a few years back and teaching it and using it effectively . JB hasn't done the same.

I can't believe people write off sanctions as a random act that just occurred. JB gets the accolades for his success, but this is his program. We get nailed with a third set of sanctions, is JB not getting axed? It's his show.

We still lost and still only threw the only two defenses we ever play against them.

A 1-3-1 token press requires minimal energy so it is something we could employ on a short rotation. It was a great coaching move by K...one that we seem incapable of doing anymore.

The defenses we threw up worked. We lost because we blew it on offense.

Yup. UNC was scoring 80-90 plus every game. They didn’t get that against us - game was tied with 3 min. to go and we never scored again.

Transfers can be on him- depends. Every situation isn’t the same. Based on what we know, I don’t think it’s fair to blame him for TT - which is the only transfer that matters for this current season.

At least partially, yes. Especially the sanctions - those are on him because this is his program. You can blame the kids, but how many other coaches have two bouts of sanctions on their resume?

Geno Thorpe? There was no way to get him to stay? None? He wouldn't have been useful now?

We've had players with crazy parents before. Maybe TT wasn't staying no matter what, but JB has to own *some* part of that.

I just don't know how we can look at this program's changes and write off all the issues as things that JB has no part in.

They weren't BS reasons. We got caught. Maybe they weren't as bad as PSU or UNC, but we were doing something wrong. And we got caught. And it's JB's second time.

Yeah, basically since sanctions. We went 8 deep in 2013, and 9-10 deep in 2012.

UNC didn’t do it, too. What they did was much worse. The system is corrupt. That’s what I’m saying.

Keeping multiple egos pulling in the same direction and reasonably happy is as a big a part of coaching as Xs and Os. But i guess if you're only going to play 6.5 deep no matter what, "my way or the highway" is a viable alternative strategy to managing situations like that.
