Sorry smokers

Also on the list of things that makes cusetroop want to smoke... I was given a bigger office last week. Lady that had it before me had a bunch of plants that are now gone. There's freaking fruit flies everywhere. I can see them flying in front of my head right now. What the heck.

A cup with something sugary in it like juice, and Saran Wrap with some small holes poked in it over the top of the cup, with a rubber band around it to keep it tight to the sides of the cup so they can't crawl out. The fruit flies can get in through the holes, but they have a lot of trouble getting out.

A couple years ago I went away for a week and forgot to take the garbage out before I left. Had a fruit fly problem when I got back, but was able to get rid of them quickly by doing the above a few times.

Thanks man! If this works, couple beers on me next time I'm in town.

This could be the only place in the world where one can get a fruit fly hack.

Yeah, being treated like a Leper. Like they shouldn't have the same treatment as a non-smoker.

They shouldn't. Keep that Schitt out of my general vicinity. Go sit in your weird room or area on the side and feel bad about your life decisions.

I'm not talking about lighting up in the Dome or even near where non-smokers are. Every time I walked out of the Dome for a smoke at halftime, the only people around are smokers or people leaving the game entirely. I'm not condoning blowing it in peoples faces or lighting up in a crowd of people like a jerk. I'm talking about being able to use tobacco in a designated area outdoors at the very least.

You're more likely to get cancer from eating too much bologna then walking past a group of smokers outside. Should we ban booze, sodas, and fried foods too? Those are also poor life decisions.

Hopefully Doug Marrone has changed his diet.

Always, brotha... And I'll do it without judging others for their legal decisions or telling others how to live their lives.
Having a little fun. Smoke, drink, eat crap food. I just thought the discrimination aspect was a little over board.

Ah the discrimination thing was just a little too out there for me. I could actual not give a crap if you smoke in a designated area, but all of the things you mentioned are someone making a personal choice where second hand or even just walking through the smoke are not up to them. Either way as I said to cusetroop do yo thang.

Ahh normally I can pick out the sarcasm. Sorry to jump all over ya

Perhaps "discrimination" was a bit dramatic. I couldn't think of a more appropriate word at the time I posted. I don't mind keeping my bad decisions to myself, but I will defend my right to make them. ;)

Bottom line, did they do any analysis to see how much revenue and seats this will cost? Do they care?

Maybe it isn't much. I hope they at least gave it a thought.

My thoughts as well.

Wait, so I can't even walk out at halftime to get some fresh air now? It gets hot as hell in there, and some cold nights it feels pretty good to cool down. I smoke probably 10 cigarettes a week, so I'll live, but this is idiotic. The Dome is a damn oven that I'm stuck in all game now. Nice. That will make some game decisions a lot easier.

If healthcare is paid for by the government they need to make every decision about your lifestyle that will impact your cost of healthcare. That is what single payer is: Complete sublimation of the individual.

I thought this was already a thing, obviously not. Last year we walked from the Dome to Starbucks to get a taxi and I could've sworn I saw multiple smoke free signs. Maybe I just assumed it was because a lot of other places are.

UVa had a little fenced in area where you didn't have to exit/re-enter, it was just all contained to one area. Maryland's entire campus was smoke free. I think that was 2 or 3 years ago so no clue if any of that remains the same.

Every Syracuse game you see the old cny guys with the jeans and the white new balance sneakers ripping heaters right outside the dome. Complaining about the play calling and may or may not have a mustache. My friend and I often laugh at the trail of bad decisions on the way into the basement entry near the quad. The cans of Blue Light on the steps and the smell of burning cigs. Sad to see it go. Definitely will be tough during those night games in August my god was it hot and you needed a break

No.
Yes. They already have kids living in bubble wrap. And let me make something clear that people can't comprehend. Smoking reduces the overall cost of an individuals lifetime healthcare as A. When smokers get sick they generally die from that illness relatively quickly and B. Smokers have somewhat shorter lifespans and most medical costs accrue at the end of life in aged people. In addition smokers pay cigarette taxes their entire life which offsets much of the medical expenses. Smokers are also generally not overweight or obese as much of the population is now which brings another huge amount of illnesses which drive health care thru the roof. And lastly, in most of these idyllic single payer socialist country's such as Holland and Belgium, euthanasia is very easy to get for almost any reason so why the hell can't people decide whether they want to smoke or not?

No.

No.
I see you have no ability to form a cogent counter argument. But here this will be less nebulous for you to get your brain around. Smoking is good for the economy and good for the nation overall.
