Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker

My prediction is Rey is going to end up as relative as Palpatine. She will kill Palpatine with Kylo.
C3PO will be deactivated.
Rey will marry Ben and become a Skywalker. Thus the rise of the Skywalker.

I am thinking she is a clone.

So its been confirmed by Daisy Ridley that JJ Abrams had a script with story arcs for episode VIII but Rian Johnson completely rewrote the script without using one thing JJ had written.

So Episode VIII completely sucked because of Rian Johnson. This gives me a little faith in JJ fixing episode IX.

Where did you see this?

In other news, TLJ was awesome, so I disagree with your thesis statement :)

I read that they have had to do extensive reshoots because the first test screenings were so poorly received, people walked out.

Internet bullshit started by angry fanboys. The movie has had fewer reshoots than TLJ and TFA per JJ. Nobody is walking out of a test screening, that's the dead give away that it's false. Sounds too good to be true to the angry mob of "fans."

there were some holes in TLJ, but it wasnt an awful movie.

its hard for a trilogy to go 3 for 3. the Nolan/Bale Batman being the gold-standard and that is out of reach for all trilogy's to approach.

but Nolan was writing in a world sort of already mapped out, this is uncharted territory.

I have heard these rumors too. To be clear nobody said that test screeners walked out. To be honest the video I saw about this from some dude in a giant helmet/mask seemed more credible than it would appear at first glance.

He described a reasonable sounding test screening demographic breakdown and then discussed the scores each act of this film received originally and then after fixes. Apparently the original cut got a single digit test score for the final act.

Now, reasons not to believe this is that he highlighted several iterations of testing, fixing, testing, reshooting, testing, etc. I’m not really thinking there was time for all this and it would be really hard to hide that level of reshoot activity. On Solo it was all over the internet when they reshot stuff so it seems we would be hearing a lot more about extensive reshoots if they were happening.

Have heard from multiple sources it will be horrible..

i’ll still watch

How connected are you? The movie just locked a few days ago. How would multiple sources have any freaking clue?

Well I’m flush with tix to the premiere next Thursday’s with hopes it can all be brought back to all its glory in the last episode. Report to follow shortly thereafter.
Same going Thursday night.
I can't have high expectations going in because of Johnson but as long as they tell a good story then it will be fine.
The article made a good point about the IV-VI was about the relationships between Luke, Leia, and Han and the story was invested in that.

VII tried to establish that with Poe, Rey, and Finn and VIII completely destroyed that. Hope IX fixes that.

Yep I have great faith in JJ Abrams to bring it all to a satisfying conclusion somehow pulling the rabbit out of a hat.
So you’re going next Thursday as well, any other Star Wars losers going with us?! :)

Have tickets for Saturday. Couldn't do the school night.

Thursday at 6:30. completely stoked. Like many of you I'm sure, This makes all 11 films seen in the theater. My parents took me in 1977, and now my kids are experiencing it with the new trilogy and the solo and rogue one movies. I hope we leave happy.

I think that was Boyega’s only gripe.

Upon further review, that’s on Abrams. He separated them at the end of Force Awakens by sending Rey off to find Luke and putting Finn in a coma.
