So I'll be in Binghamton this week, planning to go to some of the games - anyone know top recruits that will be at the game and worth watching? Also interested to know why Binghamton is in the regional division this year and SCC is in the national - is this a one year deal or is Bingo moving down permanently?

Looks like Neumann Goretti is playing. They have a kid we are recruiting, don't they?

Some damn good schools at that tourney, at least historically (Christ the King, Mount Vernon, among others). I'd have to imagine there will be a dozen or more D1 players at the tournament.

National Division

Christ The King Regional High School, Middle Village, NY
Dixie Heights High School, Edgewood, KY
Mt. Vernon High School, Mt. Vernon, NY
Seton Catholic Central, Binghamton, NY
SS Neumann Goretti Catholic High School, Philadelphia, PA
St. Rita of Cascia High School, Chicago, IL
St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Wings Academy, Bronx, NY
Regional Division I

Binghamton High School, Binghamton, NY
Union Endicott High School, Endicott, NY
Vestal High School, Vestal, NY
Maine Endwell High School, Endwell, NY

Regional Division II

Chenango Valley High School, Binghamton NY
Norwich High School, Norwich, NY
Susquehanna Valley High School, Conklin, NY
Owego Free Academy, Owego, NY

Why did I think that JD was going to a tournament in Binghamton?

The staff has shown interest in JaQuan Newton 2014 SG from NG and Steve Haney 2013 SG from St. Thomas Aquinas. Good quality of teams in that tourney though.

Regional D-2 is looking like a nice "Hoosiers" division. Norwich is a perennial power in Section 4. They and Owego play fundamentally sound, good basketball, emphasis on D. CV not a bad team. SV is big- 6'7 and 6'6 guys. They squeaked past Norwich. No stars in that division but plenty of good basketball.

Not sure why SCC is National this year. Torto is a good guard. Last year's 6'10 Center is now at Princeton. Well coached team but not competitive in that division. I think Binghamton HS is a bit down this year.

J-D played in that tournament a few years back, Triche and Coleman on the same squad.

Until you posted this, I had no idea Bobby Garbade was on the Princeton team. Cool. Also read today as I was looking for info that SCC's head coach submitted his application for the regional division with a note that if they were interested in SCC playing in the national division to give him a call. So apparently that gave Binghamton a reason to step down in divisions since they're down this year, I guess.

It seems like STAC basketball is nowhere close to as good as when I was a kid - it seemed like there was always at least one guy in the league that was a high level DI recruit (Kerins, Rice, Gillette, Lazer, etc) back when I was a kid. Doesn't seem like there's been anybody at that level in a long time, although admitted I don't follow very closely.

Even in Binghamton's down years in the past, they at least were competitive in the seventh-place game. And often times would at least stay in the open round game for a half. They must really be down.

Great tourney with a long list of D1 players in its history including GMac, Alan Griffin and Donte Greene, but my favorite sighting was a young Mark Texiera playing PF for a Baltimore high school team in the late 90s.

Only one I can remember lately is Nick Weiermiller from Elmira Free Academy. He's the starting PG now at University of Texas-Pan America, so I guess that doesn't count as 'high level.'
