There’s something up with KR. A couple people picked up on it last year. He’s rather aloof and not really all that emotional. It’s almost like he’s not that interested in playing. Wonder if that translates into his practice habits / conditioning.

He’s been flat out awful.
Basketball and tough love run hand in hand. Willard is not treating KR as a charity case. He needs to step it up. You could almost put Jalen Carey in the same category.

Its way too early to throw Kadary and Quincy under the bus. They both oozed talent and I will never bash them. Wish we still had both. We sure wouldn't be worse with them.
At the half vs. Chaminade, Quincy has 2 points on 1-for-9 shooting (0-for-5 from three) though he does have 6 rebounds.

Using that as a strict definition there are no point forwards anywhere. I can’t think of one SU player ever nor any player anywhere off the top of my head that a forward was the best ball handler, was responsible for bringing the ball up court and facilitate the offense. That player doesn’t exist unless we’re talking Magic. Historically when people have used the term point forward they have typically used it generally for a player that helped doing those things when needed and was a good passer who the offense would run through often to make the right pass to the right player/place. That definition takes the term point forward too literally.
There's this guy named LeBron James, not sure if you've ever heard of him, but he fits your definition of "a forward was the best ball handler, was responsible for bringing the ball up court and facilitate the offense" to a T. I can understand though, if you couldn't think of him off the top of your head. It's not like he's well known or anything.

Glad for Goodine. He hit some big shots last night. I always felt like he was going to take a few years to develop. He was skinny and his handle wasn’t great. Good athlete with a nice shot. Hope it works out at Providence. I am really surprised Kadary and Q are struggling so much.

So it seems like Carey and Goodine were bad evaluations by the staff, probably not ACC level players
Meanwhile credit to Boeheim for maximizing KR and QG, in that JB had them playing to their strengths and looking their best while here. But JB does take some blame for not being able to retain them along with Newton and Braswell.

Until the easy-transfer rule is changed, I think the new "normal" is that more players are going to be transferring if they (or their handlers) are unhappy with their playing time, or aren't allowed to shoot 3's or showcase their talents the way they want. It's got to be tough for a coach to balance the need to win with the need to keep all the players happy. Quincy is shooting only 21% from three this year, and he was 1-for-9 (and 0-for-5 from three) in his most recent game. Should the coach let him keep bombing away just to retain him?

Seems to be Willard's type, though. At least when it comes to Syracuse transfers.

Maximizing KR? He’s 4 games into his sophomore year. Would it be fair to say coach has done a garbage job with Samir, Benny, Frank, and Cole?

Part of a coach's job is to get them to buy into working towards 1 goal, that's why they pay them Millions
Will transfers still happen? Yes, but you got serious issues when in 1 offseason 4 transfer and a 5th (Griffin) declared for pro because he would have looked silly transferring a 2nd time

Yup. 99% of CBB were affected by the portal last year. Thank you for pointing out one team.

Gillon look silly transferring a second time? Worked out for him and us.

Quincy 1-9 and 0-5 on threes tonight for Oregon so far. Does have 8 boards tho.

I know he is struggling but I Am still a big Quincy fan. He worked his butt off for Cuse and is a true Orangemen. Watching him against St. Mary’s tonight is weird. Looks strange in Oregon colors. I hope he can turn it around and make an impact but he seems a little mismatched in his current role.

Cuse!

Has a chance at a 4 point play and misses the FT.

UVA is not good they might blow their 20 point lead to Providence here.
