Summer Sessions 2025

Just out of curiosity does anyone have insight into how different this S and C program differs from under Cabiles? Obviously the posts and content is far more robust than previous but just wondering is it truly different or just being advertised?
He was very “band oriented” and cardio based and everything like that. Hence why they got pushed around a ton. I give red a lot of credit for parting ways with him bc that was probably one of the hardest ones to do even though the results weren’t there. Rob is completely what they needed and were looking for

Awesome appreciate the insight

In his highlight videos, it looked a little bit like Souare had gained weight too fast and had some bad weight on him... If that impression was true, it's all gone now. Dude looks like a beast.

Why do hard? Personal friendship? Red's livelihood at risk too and the S&C was lacking.

JB was well known for caring about player’s conditioning, stamina and if a player was overweight. He had players leave the program for not losing weight after their on court time was cut because of their poor conditioning. I recall Anthony Harris saying he left SU after Boeheim was all over his case about his weight. Years later after playing in Hawaii, he said Boeheim was right - that only when he was older did he realize how his weight and stubborness over it, really had held him back. I used to watch him run guys ragged up the stairs in the dome during practice before the Melo Center. I don’t recall major strength emphasis but conditioning and being over weight was a definite issue. The players including his sons lifted weights but I don’t know what a priority it was as a team.
Yeah, that was the old school thinking. It's not that running and avoiding being overweight isn't important, it certainly is. But in today's game that's just a start and you need more than that. Getting bigger and stronger is integral unless you have other worldly talent. We've lagged in that aspect for a while.

Yeah it’s a science unto itself these days.

I once had it pointed out to me that although this board is mostly composed of male posters, there are numerous women posters who might be offended by the locker room talk. I'm sure there are some men as well.

I no longer make locker room type comments.

Been kind of out of the loop lately. How is Kyle looking offensively? Love how athletic he is but can he give us some scoring in the post?
He showed some scoring ability at South Dakota St. Obviously last year at UCLA wasn't great, but it could have been impacted by Cronin's system and some injury issues. Whether those reasons are really the reason or he really is a better fit at the mid-major level will be interesting to find out this season.

Where do you think he's been the last two years.
That is funny.

Come to think of it, on my way up to 'Cuse, I did see a guy walking on Route 17 North right near Fishs Eddy a year, or two, ago.

Never occurred to me that it might be our very own BC.

Had I known, I would have pulled over, rolled down my window...

Laughed

And kept going...
