It sure does... But it's meaningless. It's failing to give the parameters. Compared to last season, this team is way better at shooting than last year... Of course the average shooting percentage will be up.

We only have data on two players from last year, so if JJ and Freeman are shooting better, that's great. Really great! But what about everybody else they don't have data from previous years? How are they counting those guys?

Without letting us know exactly what parameters they improved, it's merely marketing BS. I highly doubt they are anticipating we go from the 240th best three point percentage last year to the best three point shooting team in the game year over year? Or maybe they do... We won't know from that infographic.

I'm glad they are bothering to engage fans this year, so that's a good thing, but throwing out random unverified and unexplained statistics isn't helpful. To me at least.

When backs are against the wall, programs can either step it up or cower in the corner. So far, so good.

Yeah it’s all marketing. For me improvement is what the summer is about and so long as that is the true goal with a focus on getting those results, I’ll let the spin be what it is.

We have seen players regress or not have any improvement of recent years over the summer too often so to me the pattern of actually getting results, especially with respect to improvement of strength and conditioning that is very evident, is a massive step forward.

The rest of it has to show up on the court to which the depth of talent on the roster to create competition, the athleticism and of course the aforementioned points of emphasis is refreshing and puts some momentum behind having a reason to have some optimism, guarded as it may be.

This is why the clean house mentality was so important before the portal even started in my opinion.

There were no seats made available for any guys that were "wait and see" or "maybe they improve" or even deep bench guys that "could help us" late in the season. That was mainly the category of Kyle Cuffe and Petar. Also I've been very critical of Chris Bell as a plague both in the locker room and on the court from a senior leader perspective.

Donnie was the 1 guy we needed back and I expect we made him priority #1. Lastly my take on JJ still was that he was expendable but given he came back the right way with his hat in his hand without entering the portal and also dedicated to recruiting new guys in the portal. Both came back the right way then early pickups for both Nate's and the pieces starting falling in line.

That was ridiculous, but I'm not totally sure he really believed that. I think it was more to stem the criticism of him and the direction of the program. He said a lot of self-serving things like that in his last several years.

I agree, but I don't think it was his ability to judge basketball skill that was the problem.

It was the lying. I hate when people gain credibility and use it to deceive people.

In my opinion, that is what JB was doing, even as he knew he was losing whatever made him special as a coach.

His comments in this interview were simple and accurate so not much to take issue with. We didn’t have the money last summer and it impacted the teams ability to compete. Thats the obvious thing pretty much everyone knows. Jury is out on the rest.
