Syracuse opens at +21 at Clemson

They threw poor Wilson out there for the slaughter in 2016, he is still having night sweats and screams in his sleep.

Nudge Wilson for us and tell him that he'll be alright. ;) (not that there's anything wrong with it)

interested to see how much RPO they use now.. they ran it with lawrence in the game but he didnt really run. do they become more traditional since he is a really good thrower.

I doubt they run much with him. He's too skinny to be taking hits. Especially with very little QB depth now. And if they do I hope they key on the RB because those two backs are studs.

which is why if i was clemson i make sure he runs right off the bat so that we have to honor it. Or else you scrap the rpo and go straight play action

For whatever it is worth, nothing probably, on College Football Live both “experts” picked Syracuse plus the points.

What does this mean? Syracuse wins by 25?

What are the height of the Tiger WR's? They looked tall vs their competition and that could be a problem for SU and why Dino wants to get some of those 6' 2" inch or above type WR's and of course DB's.
Tee Higgins and Justyn Ross are 6-5 and 6-4. They are by far the most dangerous WR’s on our roster, both are 5 stars. The slot guys are Amari Rodgers 4 Star and Derion Kendrick 5 Star true freshman. Overton goes 6-5 and is a 4 Star. Trevion Thompson 6-2 and is a 4 Star. And there is also a walk on named Hunter Renfrow ;)

How many stars were the guys you played last year?

What's funny is Renfrow is the one I'm worried about the most. The rest? meh...

You didn't score 40 on FSU...but you think you will @ Clemson?
Mmmmmmkayyyyyyyy.
We didn't have Dungey for a large part of the game. Take notice.

Yeah, I'm going to disagree. We're a markedly better team this year that has played one bad quarter of football in five games. The only team with a truly competent passing game lit up their secondary and nearly won. Also, I'm not buying that Trevor Lawrence is the next coming of Johnny Unitas after 4 games of whom Texas A&M is the star.

I'm not saying we're going to win. I'm not even saying that it'll be close. I am saying that the betting line this year shouldn't be a whole point higher than last year.

I love Dino and our team, but seriously, what evidence is there that we are better? Our schedule had the seas part with uconn and FSU being a dumpster fire. And all this talk of Lawrence not producing? He isn't the qb bc Bryant is leaving, rather he is the real deal . Geeez, he was the #1 rated recruit in 2018 and is a stud. We should have been begging for Bryant...

Well, aside from one quarter against WMU (where we pulled our starting quarterback) we've looked as good as anyone could possibly expect. Our run/pass balance is way better than it was last year and we don't key in on one or two receivers. One safety has as many interceptions as the entire 2017 team. Whether or not FSU is good, Cam Akers is great and did absolutely nothing against us. So, honestly, if you can't see the evidence that we're doing better, then you're just not looking.

Also, I didn't say he isn't good. I'm saying he hasn't really played anyone either. He might end up as the #1 over all pick in 3 years, but right now he's a freshman who has started a total of 0 games. I'm not willing to give him the heisman quite yet.

All of this is to say that I don't expect to win against Clemson. However, again, I think the spread is silly.

It's unfortunate that Dabo couldn't have waited one more week. Lawrence is a markedly better QB than Bryant. That's one of the reasons why the line has gone from 21 to 25.

Kelly Bryant took Clemson to the college football championship and is a multi-dimensional QB. Lawrence has . a higher ceiling, but he has to achieve that ceiling first. Whether Lawrence can do that in his first ever start remains to be seen.

Lawrence hasn't started but he's played plenty and has showed enough to supplant a guy that took his team to an ACC title and a CFP berth.

Prior to getting hurt in the SU game last year Bryant produced very little against us. Believe me I would love to be wrong but I don't think it's going to take long for you to realize that Lawrence is a better QB than Bryant.

I'm not saying that he won't be better than Bryant. I'm saying that Clemson is betting on his ceiling. I think this decision to start Lawrence was made because Dabo is a decent guy and a good coach. I think he understands that Bryant would have lost his job by the end of the year, and he wanted to both give Bryant the chance to redshirt and protect Bryant's future draft stock. Now he gets to invest in the inevitable future and part on positive terms with Bryant.

Also, to be fair, Lawrence threw a total of nine passes against TAMU, which was Clemson's hardest opponent BY FAR. All of this adds up to the fact that I don't think it's fair to worship at the alter of Lawrence at this time.

And btw Lawrence is faster and a better runner than Bryant.
