Tecmo Super Bowl Fanstasy draft

I think it should be DT, I was basing my draft on this and to have another LB when I have none affects me.

Fair enough. I honestly only had 3 LB's left on my board and all signifigantly lower than I had Greene so I'm curious to see who you'll come up with. Perhaps next time we'll just draft full teams?

Yes, full teams would be great.
There are many inside linebackers that are serviceable aside from ROLB and even LOLB.

LOLB was my spot of choice and Kevin Greene was my guy there. Not sure if the 3 I have listed are OLB or ILB honestly but think at least one was ILB. Just guys I remembered being fun to play as.

Well I took Kevin Greene so you can add him in your prior post. If it's not him I'll PM you my next pick since I pick before you and you can go yeah or nah if that's who you're after.

BTW, Zoo if you would like to trade up to my next pick if your guy is on board we can talk trade in PM if you are interested.

Realize I made a typo on the original thread and made the defensive flex spot list DT/DL when I intended DL/LB. Were we all on board with just making that a 3rd DL spot as I listed? Did others understand it to be DL/LB vs DL excluding LB's? On my draft board I was thinking LB was a viable option there but realize others likely read it the other way.

Apologies as I was typing quite a bit and messed up the abbreviation there. Would like a group consensus now as noone has filled up their D flex spot at this point.

Honestly, I would have selected another linebacker LONG ago if I knew we had a third spot for one.

I will reveal my defensive strategy if I get my next pick.

As for offense, it's safe to say I will be utilizing the run and shoot approach as I felt these were the best combination of passing and run plays in the game's playbook. You can tell, I drafted my offensive personnel with this strategy in mind. Will probably throw in a few shotgun looks too, but that's it.

Probably pretty close to this playbook for passing, but would consider changing pass play #1. Otherwise, you have to have pass #2, regardless of human or cpu.

My run plays are not as shown below. They would be:
#1 run and shoot toss up
#2 offtackle up
#3 run and shoot toss down
#4 direct snap shotgun or a short yardage play, maybe even qb sneak as it seemed to work well for moon

Nice - I have been looking at mainly my run playbook. Funny that one of those is on your screen ... haha

I am going with one of Barry's plays in the Lions playbook, also going with one in the Brown's playbook as well. Have not decided on #4 yet.

I feel like it's good not giving anything away with just two looks and no delays, b/c you can tell quickly after snap.
In fact, I might have to scrub my offtackle play on run#2 as it would be obvious based on formation.

I would then have a shotgun run in play #2 or #4, maybe both.

Edit: scratch that, as I think you can edit playbook to move desired formation into different slots.
If that's true, probably
run:
3 r&s, 1 shotgun
pass:
2 r&s, 2 shotgun

haha you have gone much more in depth than I have so far. I am using one shotgun run/pass its in the Browns playbook and is a shovel pass. Works really well as you can use the OLB's tendancy to overplay to your advantage. With a guy like Sanders it would be extremely effective. I also really like the fake reverse/reverse play that forces the defense to freeze for a moment and doesn't allow immediate commitment ( unless you guess the play of course haha). Only problem with that is you have to waste two plays in your playbook to make that work or else its obvious.. decisions, decisions...

You need a 3WR passing play or I know when you're running everytime aside from the 4WR bottom sweep play.

I will post my playbook when I am down, but trust me with how much playing time we have spent on this game we have to make all our runs/pass look as similar as possible or we would know each other's plays before the snap. That is why I am diving into the Bucs, 49ers, Cardinals, Vikings playbooks for my 8 plays.

You need a 3WR passing play or I know when you're running everytime aside from the 4WR bottom sweep play.

Picking a playbook is all about "matching"plays. There needs to be 2 running plays (in different directions) and a passing play that look the exact same pre-snap - and you need to have this for every formation you incorportate or you are toast playing another (good) player. Personally I like all my plays to look exactly the same pre-snap, but its not necessary. There are many different versions of this you can choose to accompany your personnel best.
