The 2021-2022 Portal Cup

Strange, from history I thought PSU fans were always so grounded and never put winning in front of more important things .

I keep expecting that there will be a rush of commitments at some point.

I wonder how many coaches are looking closer at the portal players with an eye towards/closer scrutiny of peripheral issues (behaviors, academics, family, etc.) as opposed to the standard measurable we assume coaches coaches use to determine who to recruit.

Some should be easy to conclude they want playing time/exposure for future opportunities (NFL). Others may be a team ng that they are a problem child in the locker room or outside of football.

That's why Babers stated when asked about the portal, and I'm paraphrasing, that each case had to be carefully examined.

You already know he's USC bound lol

edit: or does he follow his OC?
While he may go to USC, I (and many other OU fans) feel he'll stay at OU at the end of this. Also, OU had Co-OCs and both are staying as positional coaches under the new staff.

Ok. Gotcha

Have Beck give him a call. He can form the best backfield in American at SU.

It’s definitely going to settle… a one-time, no-sit free pass for all of college football, creates that type of turnover.

Now, less of a pool of kids have a free pass, and data’s been developed showing them where it could end if they are one of the 65ish percent who never find a home.

We’ve seen the worst, but, it still changes everything forever. It will be extremely rare to see a G5 STUD, stick with that program. So much more difficult for lesser teams to build a program.

This kid cant throw. I watched him play vs Iowa. Penn st wins that game if he completes half his passes. He was really bad. I just dont know if he's good enough to make up for the lack of talent around him.
So like shredder

Pitt has some soild players enter the portal already. How dare they leave a 11 win program.

At first, I thought you were talking about their basketball team.
Then I realized 11 wins is a little high for them.

Doubt Gabriel decommits from UCLA and goes to Oklahoma if he thinks Caleb was returning-He gone.

Offer every portal player with 3 years and solid measurables.
Toss out 100 plus offers.
POUND IT

The kid has thrown for 8,000+ yards and 70 touchdowns and he has two (maybe three) seasons remaining?? These extra Covid years, combined with portal jumping means kids are going to set records that may never be broken.
