Tomorrow is a must win

Dumb question, but is there no way to have a tourney-quality resume without a P5 OOC win?

The state of Syracuse athletics is in trouble regardless of what happens tomorrow.

Depends on who we play it might be a team that if we beat it does nothing for us but a loss would kill us. We will probably not be playing a team that has a chance at the tournament so a win probably wont be a resume maker at this point but a loss could and will probably bury our tournament chances.

it’s possible, but we probably need to win 3 games total against Duke, Louisville, UNC, Clemson and maybe NC State. We play those teams a combined 6 times and only two of them are at home.
Got it. I guess I'm skeptical of saying that game #7 is a "must win". But I agree that losing would be very bad.

Is there additional criteria to make sure we don’t play an ACC opponent or Tennessee and Houston?
Yes, they said they'd try to avoid a team you're scheduled to face if at all possible. It's a last resort thing. But the other 0-2 teams make it moot.

Yeah so that could be a reason we end up playing on Thursday since those opponents wouldn’t have conflict.

No I think we can play an ACC team and Tennessee but I am pretty sure we can't play Houston again.

"Yes, teams from the same conference can play against each other in the third game (Championship Day or consolation games) of the Players Era Festival.

The NCAA Men's Basketball Oversight Committee granted a specific waiver for the 2024-25 season that permits more than one team from the same conference to participate in the same Multiple-Team Event (MTE) and potentially face each other. "
