I agree. There will be better pure WR's coming in. I still thnk he is out of position. Him playing WR is still crazy in my mind.Ashton better get his head right in a hurry, because he's going to be fighting some talented freshmen for playing time next year, leading pass catcher or not.
Right. Remember that Shafer admits his own temperament gets the best of him at times. He may be the best coach Ashton could hope for.Nope, Shafer won't do that. And if a reporter asks him about what happened, he won't throw AB under the bus either.

He wasn't getting back in even if 100%. You don't blow off a coaches decision.
Maybe that he'll get another chance to see the field next season? I don't believe he ever got back in after his insubordination.

People talk about his mediocre hands and they are right. But if people only knew that ashton never worked on catching a ball until this year. He played QB all his life and his hands were not good in HS. So him playing WR and actually making some catches is a testament of his work ethic and ability. He will only get better and he will make more explosive plays the next two years. He is a great athlete who is trying to learn how to play a new position in the great conference. People act like he should be toying opponents. Not going to happen just yet. New offense, inexperience QB and coordinator. He has rare cutting and wiggle ability for someone of his size. Thats why the staff have him at a skilled position. He is 6'3 230, he is not fast enough and to be a pure #1 WR and his hands are mediocre. But he is athletic enough to make some plays at the position. My opinion he should work on blocking (and catching) all off season. He is a TE In my opinion. Charles Clay of the dolphins. If you watched the Marshall/ Maryland game yesterday. The TE for Marshall i think he was #26. Thats how I envisioned Ashton being used and that 's his only chance of making it in the NFLMoney- What position would better suit Ashton?
wow- kid has a fire in his gut to win and he gets knocked for it -
i bet he is a hell of a teammate
Transfer? It wasn't that big of a deal, pretty common. Shafer made the right call sitting him, you move onI think some coaches would ask him to transfer. I don't think Shafer will.

I don't "expect" him to do anything, actually. But a lot of people here talk about his athleticism like he's Bo Jackson.
He wasn't a dynamic RB last year, and he was a good possession receiver this year. That's fine. But if he wasn't a local kid that people saw dominate HS games I doubt he'd get half the attention he gets here.
What do you read? lol. people talk about his athleticism and his potential. No one talks about how great of a WR or RB he. he's 6'3 230, he was playing RB at one point now he is playing WR which is hard to do at that size. He is still learning how to catch the ball. He has an avg. throwing QB. and he still caught 50 balls. The fact that the staff is trying to find a way for him to get on the field speaks highly of his potential. Dont worry about who talks on this forum Listen to what the coaches say. And I think most people on here knows he out of position and that he is only a sophomore and still have to learn one of the 3 positions the staff have given him in two years.I don't "expect" him to do anything, actually. But a lot of people here talk about his athleticism like he's Bo Jackson.

I agree, lol, but how many times was he targeted in scoring position?Score?

So you to expect him to take a bubble screen to the house every time he touches the ball?Playmakers don't need scoring position
