The point is that just because Hop is finding success at Washington, doesn’t automatically mean he’d be doing the same at SU. Because he wouldn’t be. His record would be the same at best, but probably worse. And that includes the previous two seasons.

I think if we had Washington’s roster, we’d have another win or two.

They aren’t deep either, but their starting 5 is better and more balanced than ours, and has a couple elite talents.

Washington's starting 5 is very good, but they have no bench ( only 1 guy really plays). If Stewart didn't go to Washington they are on par with us.

They would be like our teams the last couple of years that had athletes who couldn't score and would probably ISO a lot.

Stewart's efficiency in the post changes their offense entirely, it opens up shots for other guys.

And 80% of Washington’s starting 5 would not be possible if Hop wasn’t an assistant at SU. He started recruiting all of those guys (and Roberts) when he was on the Hill. I believe that’s over now. He’s on his own from here on out.

It’s really just Stewart and Green. If JB wanted Carter or Wright, they’d be here. I’m not counting the kid from Seattle, because we would never have a chance at a kid like that, even in our prime.

Washington needs shooters we need long athletes.
Put Steward on our team with our shooters and we are probably sitting here with one lose.

Put Hughes on their team and they might have one lose.

He has been on his own for 3 years and overtaken us
Are you suggesting he didn’t have a relationship with those five players before he took the job at Washington? Please address the actual argument.

He has relationships and closed on them. I wish someone on our current staff did that with kids inside the top 75

Your right his house of cards is coming down now that he isn’t attached to us. Good lord have you been watching us play these past 3 years. What planet are you living on

I know that is a problem for us not Carter

I found you. The last fan who thinks jb can turn recruiting around. I almost gave up hope but here you are.
Look, I get it. You live in the area and met Hop and now you think you’re boys. How about addressing my actual points instead of setting up a series of straw men, though? You decided to make this personal and I responded in kind. How about we get back to debating basketball? Otherwise, this is a waste of time and board space that no one is interested in, in which case if you need the last word, you can have it.

His dad.
tough loss for Hop. At the moment Hops recruiting and personality exceed his in game coaching. Hell get there with experience. washington has played 4 good teams and is 1-3. They will need to do work in the PAC 10 or will be living on the bubble. a big man like Stewart ( top 10 player in college) and two more five stars should equate to a better record than they have. Fun team but should have done better in the non conference.

Cuse!

The player going to not Syracuse?
The player who was off our radar and put himself back on.

Another near miss, and one where we didn’t even expect to be in the running.

I’m not sure what your argument is. Is it we are close on kids and be patient Boeheim is going to start bringing in top talent again and Hopkins has proved nothing because the Pac 12 is weaker than the acc. If Boeheim had Hopkins players we would be so great. I’m not sure what to tell you and hate to be the one to bring this to your attention but we are not going to get higher rated kids and have any chance to improve until Boeheim retires. He was an amazing coach for us and I love him but this is what the end looks like whether you are him or Bobby Bowden or whoever. Hopkins is beside the point really. He is a good person and I’m happy for his success but the fact people are still talking about an assistant coach 3 years after he left should tell you everything you need to know about our situation.

I am happy for Hopkins but that loss yesterday is brutal. Our team and HC would be taking a lot of heat if we lost that game.
Washington is 1-3 against P5/Gonzaga/AAC teams and it’s conference has no other good teams except Arizona and Oregon.
Washington isn’t going to get a good seed unless they go 15-3 or better in conference play.

Brutal loss for them 10-3 in nonconference is not good with that schedule.
