Whos our next head coach

Do you really think Dino is on the hot seat now? I mean, I really hope he is. He obviously is with the fanbase.
He's done. Just a matter of WHEN the "IF" has been decided.

I wouldn't be shocked if it's around Nov 6th and the BYE week. Have only 1 home game after that game so that does help, plus you give the interim guy a bye week to prepare for last 3 games, not so much to win just to organize himself in the role for a month. Also let's the school get a little jump on interviewing candidates

This is where it gets difficult for the average fan to know. We really do not know his metrics or KPIs that SU leadership have outlined.

In the two games this year I have seen improvement in both the OL and Defense. QB and WR are still the glaring weaknesses, but there is a promising group of young talent here that can win a few (4-5) this year.

Will the University pay the premium necessary to get the type of coach who is able to recruit despite the inherent disadvantages that Syracuse faces?

I am talking top 10-15 coach money:

if the answer is no, we are destined to guys like Dino. Good at one thing but not the complete package

What’s the one thing ?

I wouldn’t pay somebody top 15 money off the bat here.
Unless it’s a coach who has earned it.

We just need to find a good coach build the program up.
Use us to get a better job and hire somebody to keep the momentum.

Dino’s 2019 told us what he was.
He developed the roster that he inherited and then when it was his guys turn we flipped.

Well this board loves alums so…coming out of retirement Randy Edsall.
It’s exactly the type of cheap reclamation project we typically hire that’s for sure

I would LOVE to have that be the norm,, but the odds are that that next hire drives the program back to where it is now.

Dino did develop the roster he inherited, why can't he do it again with the roster he has now? All it takes is a team legend to lead the way...LOL

At the end of the day I think we need to look in the mirror and see that rebuilds for Syracuse take longer than expected. Every 4-5 years are our peak.

Sean Lewis or Marrone. Wildhack should call Doug first thing Monday and see what can be worked out. We need a professional coach who knows what he's doing.
It just feels lazy to me to go with guys who have been here in some capacity. Just like the Gait hire in lacrosse. What I can picture happened is Wildhack just walking down the hall from his office and saying hey Gary John’s retiring because he enabled a domestic abuser…would you like to coach the men? Then Hack hires an ex player as the women’s lacrosse coach, no search again. Followed by the women’s basketball debacle, no search. He decides to name an acting coach instead of searching outside for someone. Not to mention Hack caving to Jim Boeheim and letting him change his plans.
maybe those two Lewis and Marrone should be interviewed but can we also consider an outside person as well.

Sean Lewis is a pipe dream. We're going to fire Dino...only to hire one of his guys? Not to mention I would expect bigger dogs than us to be in the fight for him.

averaging 76 ppg after 2 games
I just complained in another thread about how our team has become really boring. That certainly wouldn’t be a problem with Kelley.

He may give our fanbase heart attacks with his aggressiveness, but that’s a different problem.

Correct. ^^^
Who in their right mind fires a coach then hires his former understudy?

If Dino had been a success and departed, then you seriously consider Sean Lewis.

But not in our present scenario.

Moorehead or Marrone.
If it is our former HC, he has many of the upgrades he was asking for and his has to change his mindset to accept recruiting and for what it is and hire some recruiting hustlers. He does not need 6-7 yes men to nod affirmatively 10x a day.
