Whos our next head coach

Correct. ^^^
Who in their right mind fires a coach then hires his former understudy?

If Dino had been a success and departed, then you seriously consider Sean Lewis.

But not in our present scenario.

Moorehead or Marrone.
If it is our former HC, he has many of the upgrades he was asking for and his has to change his mindset to accept recruiting and for what it is and hire some recruiting hustlers. He does not need 6-7 yes men to nod affirmatively 10x a day.
Would like to see Marrone, but would like to keep our defensive coaches.

Marrone returning would be like Schiano returning to RU except one likes to recruit and the other doesn’t. I would be fine with Big Dougie but he did alienate former players and if we win, I am fine with whatever he does.

This is where I would start with early phone calls (list below in no special order) and I would put really do some background work on Elko as I think he would be near the top of my list along with Johnson.

Jim McElwain (Central Michigan)
Mike Elko (Tex A&M DC) (from NJ, coached at WF and ND so knows the ACC)
Brian Johnson (Eagles QB coach) had success in college at Utah, Houston, and Florida as their OC's
Jay Norvell (Nevada)

If you guys thought the 4th and 10 punt was bad BoB is not your guy. Dude would have punted on 4th and 1.

Except Lewis is proving he can win at even the worst schools. And you also do that if you think he brings play calls that you aren’t seeing here. Lewis is running the offense like 16-17-18 us, not 19-21 us

I want an outsider. By that I don’t mean someone outside of the Babers coaching tree. I mean someone on the outside of society. Like a drifter or a homeless person.
Jerry Glanville?

I'm sure I'll be alone in this thought, but I would also look at Chris Creighton at Eastern Michigan. He's taken that dumpster fire to 3 bowls in his 7 years there.

A few must.

Has to have strong East Coast roots.
Has to be from the East Coast
Has to have Coached an East Coast team
Has to have been born raised Married or Gone to College in the East.
Has to have some Italian Irish German or Polish blood in their Veins
Has to be able to navigate NYC without help
Has to love Snow.

Will the University pay the premium necessary to get the type of coach who is able to recruit despite the inherent disadvantages that Syracuse faces?

I am talking top 10-15 coach money:

if the answer is no, we are destined to guys like Dino. Good at one thing but not the complete package
We dont need that. We need a good east coast based staff that likes living on the east coast and has the ability to develop 3 star kids.

Pay Dome Eddie 100k a year and surround him with the top NYS HS coaches. I guarantee we do better

Agree to disagree here. We need a coach that can recruit the likes of The four and five star guys we used to have. We need a guy who is strong enough that kids want to play for him despite the location. That being said I know we will never pay what it takes to get that kind of coach

Clueless. SU has enough $$ to pay whatever is needed.

Good luck with that!

Sean Lewis is a pipe dream. We're going to fire Dino...only to hire one of his guys? Not to mention I would expect bigger dogs than us to be in the fight for him.
We did that in Women’s basketball in a situation you’d never do that in.
