in light of many of the posts on here in recent days...

careful what u wish for

On the bright side the rest of the schedule is a mixture of sat/tues(wed)/sat games (with a few sat/sat weeks in there) in contrast to recent schedules of thurs/sat/mon stuff.

Maintaining the status quo due to fear of making a change results in worse results. Whenever the change happens it has been looming for more than enough time that those in charge should be able to keep the ship straight. If not, that speaks volumes about those in charge.

Im wishing for a new coach. Though its more than likely going to result in multiple down years by our standards, it’s the only chance we have to restore the program’s future.

retaining a coach into his mid 80’s is a setup for failure.

Maryland is what we can expect when JB retires. They survived their legend.

It would be awfully kind if you told us what you mean.
I think he is saying be careful what you wish for in the sense that acting like this is rock bottom is not reality. Boeheim's sustained success has made our fan base not realize what rock bottom looks like. People who think that once we get rid of the Boeheim that all of the sudden we are going to have this young energetic coach that wins 25 games a year at a minimum and gets is to the 2nd weekend every year are in for a painful reality in the very near future.

Everyone knows the next HC isn’t going to have the career of Jim Boeheim.

That isn’t why people want change. It’s because the success we previously had isn’t going to continue till we get change. How many years of rope does the legend get?

The first 3 years they were in the ACC. So they averaged 14 losses a season. That is what we are calling surviving? Do you think that our next coach survives 3 years like that?

That's far from a given, and only a subjective opinion. Risk is viewed by many as being universally bad and something to be avoided, but risk can also provide opportunity.

I'll reserve judgement until I see who the replacement is. Given how the on-court performance has trended these past two years, with this year appearing to be an unprecedented low in JB's tenure, it is becoming clear that change is past due.

That doesn't detract from JB's accomplishments. I think he is a top 10 college coach, all time. But things have gotten stale, recruiting has dropped off, and the dreadful on-court performance against mediocre teams, I welcome the pending change -- and view it as an opportunity to infuse a sleeping giant program with an infusion of much needed energy and new ideas that are aligned with the modern game.
