I’m more worried about who this program will attract for players while JB plays out the string.

Yup that’s reality. But some of that could be the dramatically different college hoops scene. It’s certainly different if JB is 50 instead of 76 but some of what we’re seeing as a dropoff may be b/c kids today don’t really care about the history or stature of a program.

If Umass or Ole Miss or Nebraska say the right things and if syracuse isn’t Duke (which it’s not) then they may see all those schools as six of one, half dozen of another. JB may not be helping this but it may be an issue after he’s gone as well.

He came on strong and I think he'll be a solid piece of the puzzle next year, but if we lose most or all of these other guys, you and I are going to have to suit up to fill out the roster.

At least we're not Florida. They haven't graduated anyone since 2015. Over that span 4 tournament appearances and one elite eight. Mike white 123-75, zero graduations. Entire 2016 and 17 classes have transferred. This will be the new normal

Kardary leaving would overshadow it and he'd get no attention which he probably wants/needs to get the best landing spot possible.

And Bras who plays his position and was ahead of him on the depth chart left unexpectedly opening up minutes and a path to PT.

I assume he'll announce around whenever Jimmy Jr is added and 40 mins per night on the wing go to him.

Can't talk to other schools until you are officially in the portal. With all the movement I wouls imagine players would want to find a landing spot as quickly as possible before the music stops. That being said, it is the school that enters the name in the portal and they have 48 hours to do so.

Not me but I want to go to the Venetian and play this month. They have some great tournaments this month. the idea of 8 or 9 hours in a plane, both ways, is painful however.

I am only reluctant because of the time spent in the air. Aren't you coming from Alaska? kind of puts my reluctance to shame.

Personally, I think if he’s playing major minutes, we’re in trouble. He would be best playing a complimentary role behind better athletes. However, his presence in the roster and JB’s perceived favoritism toward his sons, justified or not, may deter those athletes from selecting Syracuse.

I think his 3pt shooting at 29% on 5 attempts a game (in the 19/20 season) will fit right in with Joe Girard. It will be a lethal green light combination.

Thinking of doing the same. I just don't know that i can take the heat during the summer. I spent a 7/4 there a number of years back. At midnight, it was hotter than I ever remember back here in Mass and Ct.

I've been here off and on since October, but solid since the end of January. Travel was nice when they left the middle seats open, but that's long gone.

For someone who never thought they'd leave Alaska, Vegas and the surrounding area is growing on me. The temps all winter were awesome, tons of hikes and adventures. Once things go back to normalish and things start opening up, it will be nice to enjoy all the things that pre covid vegas offered. I think there were 5 conference basketball tournaments in town at the same time this year, I'll be all over that next year.

Little worried about the heat, but we'll see how it goes.
Thought we were catching the housing market at a good time, but wayy wrong. Sellers are accepting offers the day they list. Every house we look at has 10 offers, and most are cash. I'm heading back to Alaska for a bit, prolly early/mid may, depending on when we close here.

Boeheim coaching his son. I don't know how you can expect players to not resent when their HC will scream and publicly bash them, but never do it to him. People forget it now after Buddy's great recent run, but he was really struggling for a good part of the year and never was publicly screamed at or criticized like many of his teammates. How many times this year has he bashed other players to make Buddy and Joe look good? At his PC's, he blamed the defense on practically everyone but them. When JB criticizes and benches Griffin over and over for shot selection and totally ignores that issue with his son when he struggled earlier in the year, if you don't expect that to lead to issues, you're putting your head in the sand.

Griffenn staying means Woody can't start.

After the way the season ended no thanks. I need someone better defensively.

From what supposedly happened on IG last night, he seemed more than happy to use social media to clown around about the program and possibly the fans. If true, I am not at all disappointed with him leaving.

i have no idea what happened on IG, but even if he doesn’t like JB or is frustrated with how he was handled here, that’s disrespectful to the assistant coaches who worked very hard for him and worked to develop his skills, not to mention his teammates.

I think the 3 freshman must have really poisoned the well with each other and got in each other’s heads. It was an unprecedented year of such extreme isolation from the rest of the university community and from the normal happenings and excitement of campus life.
