Arsenal re signing Ozil was just idiotic. He has been bad for a while now and it's just as perplexing he is still so highly regarded by the national team.

And on another note , reality check for Mexico as that win over Germany is ages from beating the dominant team in qualifying. This group was badly out of form and Mexico showed just how flawed they really are today.

If they get Brazil good night Mexico IMO Sweden or the Belgium/England loser has a clear path to the Final.
England really wants to lose to Belgium. Winner of that group goes to the death side of the bracket.
Loser goes to Spain/Russia , Croatia/Denmark Sweden/Switzerland likely and Group H winner side.

Spain is out of form as well.

just for shutzen giggles, I went to the England board on Bigsoccer.com and they are very optimistic now that Germany is out. They are now the 4th most like team to win the world cup... the teams in front of them have been struggling... we're peaking at the right time... etc

True on Spain. This has been a fairly disappointing World Cup overall in terms of quality of play. No doubt a lot of spectacular goals but much of that is because the run of play has been really poor in terms of chance creation.

Columbia is on the easy side of the draw.

Poland just didn't have any chemistry as a team but don't see where they were at fault for something. Poland and Germany both played like the USMNT vs T and T in all three games. Just awful football.

Stopped playing the last 6-7 minutes. They didn’t care or they don’t like Senegal or like Japan. Japan was in with the 1-0 loss as long as Poland didn’t score again and Spain Senegal stayed as is. So Japan went to a stall and Poland did the same thing. Neither tried to advance the ball. The game-score may not have meant a thing to Poland but it did to 2 other teams. At least play.

Samething happened in 2010 with Chile and Spain. Chile didn't try to get the ball and let Spain keep it as they wanted to advance.

It is bush league but that stuff happens. Poland just wanted to win and were ahead. I don't blame them that much.
