2021 Schedule

Notre Dame is a de facto Coastal member next year.
They play 4 Coastal teams next year.

9/4 at Ohio
9/11 Rutgers
9/18 Albany
9/24 Liberty Friday
10/2 at FSU
10/9 Wake
10/15 Clemson Friday
10/23 at Va Tech
10/30 Boston College
11/6 Open
11/13 at Louisville
11/20 at NC State
11/27 Pitt

I think with the new sound system, roof and lighting, games at night, especially football games, are going to be a really cool experience. Might help improve our home field advantage. Hoping we get a couple of night games at home on Saturday nights too. Take full advantage of what those lights can do...

It is a shame we have to play 9 games before a bye. Wish we played FSU later in the season, when it isn't as hot there and it would make more sense for CNY based fans who like to golf to go down and see a football game and get some golf in.

Miami’s first 3 games
Alabama-Atlanta
App State
Michigan State

If they go 1-2 that isn’t bad.

I wouldn't consider the opener on the road at Ohio a sure win for a team coming off a 1-10 season.
Ohio doesn’t have the talent Syracuse does.
We are going to beat Ohio.
Western Michigan has more talent than Ohio.

I just can't see us as more than a touchdown favorite in that game. Ohio is a very consistently good MAC program under Frank Solich. Zero losing seasons since 2008.
If you aren’t confident we will beat Ohio you are saying we are going 1-11 next year.
I am 100% confident barring major injuries or a 4+ turnovers we are beating Ohio by more than 1 score.

We have a chance to get off to a good start. Toughest games will be Clemson, at VT and at Louisville IMO.

Some thought out there too...that more people actually got Covid and didn't know it. Herd Immunity might be here sooner than later.
I read an article this morning that says as much, also the 100 million
doses from the Johnson and Johnson one dose vaccine should be in play by April. The term “game changer has been used for that vaccine” It is also much easier to store therefore passing some logistical problems. So I’m hopeful of full stadiums in the fall. You know they can’t afford another season without ticket revenue so they will find a way.

I'm sure I'll get quickly banned for saying this (cuz 'Murica) - is Liberty like our annual rival now? Do we have to play them every year?

I really like a lot of things about this schedule.

1) Three September home games - should have nice weather for tailgating.
2) Four very winnable games to start. No guarantee at 4-0 by any stretch, but it's there for the taking.
3) FSU & Clemson are still home games opposite years. Very happy to see that!
4) I know (and understand why) some people don't like Friday night games, but I like having at least one. And with one of those being Clemson, I can't wait! Although my liver probably can.

The 2nd half of the schedule looks really tough. I would love to get to 7-5, but I can see anything from 2-10 to 8-4. In my opinion, the season hinges on the Oline (I'm cautiously optimistic) and the Dline (not as optimistic) and how we replace our key pieces in the secondary.

I'm really looking forward to getting back to the Dome and the tailgate scene!
