2023 PGA Tour

One of the best parts of the Masters to me was fan decorum. It was kind of disappointing to hear "mashed potatoes" and "get in the hole" on tee shots this year.

Was not a great final round but good to see Rahm win.

This weekend:

Cantlay 1500
Hovland 2200
Cam Young 2200
Woo Kim 6500
Conners 5500
Henley 4500

I hear a lot of people are bullish on JT this week.
He was on my "considering" list. Didn't love his past performances at the course.

I was very into golf two summers ago, didn't watch any last summer and now I am all the way back in. It kind of makes me miss playing but my combo of being bad at the sport but also super competitive is an unenjoyable mix.

I thought you got kicked out for that

I have Clark/Hossler 22-1 and Im/Mitchell 11-1. I am officially nervous that they are both going to chit their pants today.

And…..that’s exactly what happened. Lol. I had Mitchell/IM too

one team missed a couple short putts today for shooting a 61-62 and Cantley/xander were a short putt away from an easy par 5 from shooting 28-29 on the backside.. and both lost.

Well I just realized this week the PGA screwed over the Canadian Open on the schedule once again. Big surprise (sarcasm). Just makes Monahan and the PGA tour executives bigger hypocrites given how they showed up at last year's event to USE the large crowds and atmosphere at the 2022 Canadian Open to gloat how great the PGA tour was, as this was the event that was up against the first ever LIV event that teed up that weekend.

The Canadian Open gets large crowds for a regular event. But the PGA tour refuses to put the event on a good spot on the schedule nor does it allocate a fair amount of TV money. This limits the field of what historically was supposed to be a larger event on tour (until the PGA tour killed it on the schedule starting around 1990 by putting it in September)

This time the Canon Open in Hartford was designated a "super event" over the Canadian Open. The freaking Canon Open. Now the Canadian Open, is surrounded by a major and two super events. Players do not like playing 4 events in 4 weeks, and since top players will go to the major and are mandated to play the other two super events we get passed on like we did before (when the schedule went British, Canadian Open, WGC Akron, PGA). They finally moved the Canadian Open to a good, protected spot on the tour when they moved the PGA championship around (2018 or so), and then they had to screw us over again.

I'll watch the PGA. But as a regular attendee of the Canadian Open this makes me disappointed.

Did you already forget what happened last year? Sincerely **** you Jay Monahan.

Just to continue on my post above, I understand the theory behind the "super events". It has its pro's and con's (it really hurts non designated events which is unfortunate), but I think the pro's outweigh the cons and was the proper way for the PGA to combat LIV. The PGA needed to go that direction.

But come on now the Canon Open designated super status over the Canadian Open? Perhaps some of my neighbors to the south may not agree with me.

Or they could have not designated either, given that they already have 2 large events in the 4 week period, and put the super event elsewhere on the schedule. Once you create a 3rd in 4 weeks, you lay the death blow on the 4th event.

Wyndham Clark 20-1
Hojgaard 30-1
Noren 45-1
My guy Cam Champ 150-1
Full unit instead of half on Rahm +290 because of course

Outside of a double in his first hole Thursday Champ looks reaaally good. Think he goes on a run this weekend.

I didn't want to tell you when you posted it, but on one of the PGA Tour radio shows, probably Hitting the Green, with Jason Sobel and Michael Collins, one of them picked Alex Noren to miss the cut. And of course he did.

Some of the designated events will likely change: Harbour Town, Travelers, Phoenix and Wells Fargo.

Earlier this week, I took the Bishop Ludden graduate Kevin Roy to finish in the Top 10 in the Mexico Open. He is currently T-14 and one shot back. $10 bucks will pay $170 if he has a strong day.

That's very possible - I suppose the majority of the schedule for 2022-2023 was already set when they decided to go with designated events.

Also realized the Canon was the old name of the Traveler's - probably changed a number of years back as well.

I wouldn't expect unconventional lefty Bhatia to overcome Finau or Rahm, but the 21 year old is having a great week. If he continues to putt well, anything could happen.

Rahm sets money record today. Crazy how much money is out there now thanks to LIV.
