I'd go so far as to say we should be in the CFP if it were strictly merit based, and that if we were we would make some noise in it the way they are playing right now.

So we are tied for 3rd in ranked wins.
2 of our 3 were undefeated at the time with 1 on the road and 3rd was ranked 6th.
We lost to 2 rivals on the road and Stanford was a fluke. If we beat Stanford we should have been solidly in the playoff but I know we wouldn't have been.

I think Brett had them in the Fenway Bowl last week. Both picks for Duke are hard to understand. Maybe they agreed to buy some enormous amount of tickets if they were selected for the Gator?

But the man has sources. If he says this is a possibility, I am concerned. Very concerned.

I guess the key takeaway here is that we Syracuse fans really need to root for Clemson to win on Saturday. That would presumably add a second ACC team to the playoff pool and every ACC bowl team would move up a spot.

I’m going to say this…..I don’t want us playing South Carolina in the Gator Bowl. Yes, they are on fire but it’s mainly that I don’t want to have to listen to the Sellers commitment flip for the next month. Not to mention, he seems like an all around great dude who kind of reminds me of McNabb. It also brings back the Vick commitment flip/ Beamer connection.

Duke v Ole Miss at 730 pm? The Gator Bowl must not want anyone to watch.

Watching Dabo's press confernces this week, I've got a good feeling about them against SMU. They got nothing to lose and it's a whole new season now. A little bit of Fran Magic has rubbed off on them.

All of this. The Athletic has the same matchup (Cuse/Washington in the Sun) and also has Duke in the Gator. Enough smoke there to think, absent any change, it’s trending towards our final destination being El Paso.

Need, repeat, NEED Clemson to win this weekend. If (big ‘if’) Duke is locked in the Gator than that would open up at least Pop Tarts or Mayo.

The Bowls don't make their money off ticket sales, it's TV advertising.
And right now Fran is the best advertising of anyone outside of the playoffs.
