It's been a while since I've been on and posted anything. I do apologize for my absence.
After the dust settled from the Spring Game I wanted to reach out and let everyone know we were excited to see over 4,000 people at the Spring Game, that was AWESOME!!!! Next year there will be more - let's make it our personal goal to make sure we do.
I arrived at the Dome for the Spring game around 11:15am to attend our football club gathering in Club 44; to my surprise the Dome was rocking with music, people were in the stands watching the players on the field and more importantly...BUYING SEASON TICKETS!!!! The last report I heard is we sold close to 300 season tickets that day. I'm getting the feeling that fans are excited about football again; hopefully I am not jumping the gun. But if you listen to Shafer and don't get excited then I'd check your heartbeat.
In addition, about 40 former football players came back to see each other and watch the future and the future looks bright. I've watched these kids compete this spring and I will say they look more athletic, the offense is running smoothly and the level of competition has increased. With addition of the young talent that will come in this summer there is a reason to be excited.
I've read some post and had some conversations about the uniforms - most people wonder where the Orange is and I'd have to say we've tried plenty of Orange combination in the past without much thought nor much fanfare. These uniforms are well thought out with the slanted lines at a 44 degree angle; the Fort Drum symbol and the lettering on the inside of the shirts; these are little details that count. As Coach P would say, "PAY ATTENTION TO THE DETAILS!!!"
LSU is coming to the Dome!!! They made us excited for the next few years with that announcement!!! When the Dome is full the heat is overwhelming - let's show them what hot is! But it all starts this year - Shafer is putting up his own money to help sell the Dome out for the Villanova game; let's make sure we have his back and make sure it is - at every game. As I expressed before, the more people, the better it looks to a recruit (and we have lost some because there were no fans) and the louder it is and when it's loud the opponent makes mistakes we can take advantage of. The Dome is only going to earn it's name The Loud House if butts are in the seats.
I promise I won't stay away this long again. That way you don't have to read these long threads
